Is it really PAL DVD ??

If it's NTSC for US, is it PAL to NTSC converted or vice versa ??

Which version is direct film to video ??

Are movies Pal or NTSC even in theaters? I didnt know that. I thought movies in theaters are shown at 24fps, which we get on Blurays these days and hence Blurays are not Pal or NTSC..just 24fps.

I think movies are re-encoded to pal or ntsc just for home video i.e vhs and dvds. But with Blurays we have crossed the barrier of Pal and NTSC. So I guess both NTSC and Pal discs will have been redone for the particular zone, isnt it ? Else why are Blurays 24fps...arent they supposed to be true to theater?

Guys pls feel free to fill me up with the facts..its an interesting topic to find out about.
Infact details on this Pal/Ntsc stuff can be researched on avsforum.com
Cheers

THE FIRST FEW SCREENGRABS from the BIG HOME VIDEO DVD

It is PAL indeed. But despite the nice box packing, the case of the disc itself is disappointing. Each disc is is inside a polythene pouch that's inside a cardboard pouch. Bad!

My querry was specific to DVD that was mentioned as PAL DVD (now confirmed by Newdeep above).
Regarding rest of the "vikc" Qs, it'll have to be in a different thread. It's common stuff.

Newdeep, as you said, it's a PAL DVD, do you see any combing when watching it in Force Weave mode ?? If no combing, then it must be Film to PAL transfer. Otherwise "Film to NTSC to PAL" ?? I don't expect any Indian DVD company will do two separate transfers, "Film to NTSC" for NTSC countries and "Film to PAL" for PAL countries. (Hollywood DVD companies usually do separate "Film to NTSC" or "Film to PAL" or "Film to Secam" etc transfers for various regions).

I've seen the source. It's a very badly done DVD. Extremely disappointed.

Some guy named Surya encoded this for BHV???!!! You guys know of this person? Whoever it is, needs to find a new job...because THIS particular person sucks.

For once i actually agree with Farooqbhai. I was not impressed with this DVD, I watched it last night, yes it has fnally been released and they have taken 6 months or so to release the dvd. The colours ae vibrant and the picture looks clean however there was a lack of sharpness to the picture. Hopefully the bluray will better

Anybody know when will the NTSC DVD be available for the US audience? Have not seen the movie and been waiting for this DVD for a long time so I can finally watch it!

Yes, there will be a Blu-ray. Considering that this is a BHV release, 'WHEN' is anybody's guess. The authoring work was completed and the check disc delivered to BHV a little while back.
