hope they do justice to khuda gawah (and hope it's not replicated at jet speed)

Hopefully an Anamorphic transfer for Khuda Gawah, hopefully!

You got your wish.

It's anamorphic and is Pseudo Progressive.
Initially it seemed Progressive but on high magnification and high motion it showed combing in some frames in Force Weave setting, typical of Pseudo-Prog encoding. Players with 3:2 pull down should be able to play it as Progressive DVD.

And, not cut at all. 3 hrs 13 min, same as indicated on CC 5306 meters.

No indication that it's replicated at Jet Speed. :D

I didn't realize there was a DEI DVD as well. Checked my DEI DVD and as expected, comparison results are the same as in all other DVDs that DEI as well as Shemaroo, both released (except a few DVDs that DEI released Field Averaged).

DEI DVD is 24 fps Progressive where as Shemaroo DVD is 30 fps with a clear 3:2 pull down.

Even though DEI DVD is not anamorphic, the picture is much sharper. Normally we get more colorful picture in Shemaroo but in this case, DEI colors are equally good.

DEI audio is 2 Ch where as Shemaroo audio is 5.1. Was the orig film in 5.1 ?? Perhaps not ??

But, Shemaroo Khudagawah (Pseudo-Prog) is sure better than other Shemaroo (Field Averaged) DVDs.

Sure, Shemaroo Khudagawah is anamorphic, but displaying the picture in same size, DEI still will be sharper.

KG was originally mono. It came a bit before when Bollywood turned 5.1.

Is it possible we can get some comparison shots to the DEI version (which were taken in the KG thread) and verdict the better DVD and judge the better colours?

I doubt THE DON by Shemaroo will be as good as the EROS version, which although no masterpiece of a DVD, was definitely good...

other Salim films to watch out for include Aadmi [Mithun] and Doodh Ka Karz
