Rumour has it that the Blu-Ray disc of ROCK ON is of high quality, and the work done is really good.

Again this is just a Rumour so don't get all excited until the BD disc releases!

No, I do not know the specs of the Blu-Ray disc or what audio options will be on the disc!!

(We wait, and see if the above is actually true)

@Sanjay - If you're based out of India, can you please comment on the quality of Jodhaa and Rock On. Heard it has been released in India.

I tried to contact the 'Big Video' distributor today, but it was past office hrs by the time I read about the release of the two BDs. I shall hopefully be able to get the two titles tommorow, that is if they have actually been released. Since I already have the excellent 'Bodega, Region B' BD of 'Jodhaa Akbar', I am more keen to get a hold of the 'Rock On' BD. But, I will try to atleast checkout the quality of the 'Jodhaa Akbar' BD also, so as to provide you guys with the feedback..

According to Blu-Ray.com

Inside information is that Neither Jodha nor ghajini or Race authored by chandna. After reading the reviews in this forum-Big Pictures and UTV cancelled their work orders and sent the HD master to some authoring house in Europe for authoring and replication. The same authoring house is authoring Kambakth Ishq and Love Aaj Kal for Eros. This is and was the reason for delay and now Jodha and Race will show in Indian markets on Tuesday. Next week we will let you know the exact authoring and replication house.

So if the above is true then a good move by EROS, UTV, and Big Pictures...

@Sanjay - Thanks man. Appreciate it.
Where did you buy the Region B Bodega Jodha?
@ksingh - FYI - Jodha was authored by Chandna. Rock On was authored by API

Just got off the phone with the 'Big Home Video' distributor, it is confirmed that both 'Rock On' & 'Jodhaa Akbar' BDs have been released. Will get back with first impressions soon after I have them in possession, which should hopefully be no later than a few hrs.

I bought it from 'natarajbooks' via Amazon.com in the US. Paid US $53 for it, including $3 for shipping to an address in the US. Amazon.com now shows, "This item has been discontinued by the manufacturer".

PS: After seeing the 'Big Video' BD of this film, I think the $53 was well spent and I have no regrets whatsoever due to it being infinitely superior to the 'Big Video' release.

Aside from good detail, those shots look appauling. Surely the film isn't meant to be that dark with blown out contrast. And that framing is utterly amateurish.

Please say Eros's new authoring company won't be API!
