Just a few days left to this flick's release, and I'm super excited and anxious...

"Dil Gira Dafataan" has gotta be one of my favourite love songs of all time.

I love listening to it, nevertheless I do not still find it to the level of Zubaida! my yard stick for Rehman.

Even with my disgust for Rehman singing: I love rehna tou most enjoyable to me.

The music and the fact that the movie is directed by Rakyesh Omprakash had me really excited. But the excitement has been curtailed quite a bit after watching the trailer of the movie. Abhishek Bachchalan presence totally robs the movie of any class and the disjointed and lacklustre trailer itself ddi'nt help matters.

I can relate to this very much, we will see. I do not think a film like Garam Hava will meet any success, and film like Zubaida without additional SUGAR COATING will meet any success!

The film seems to be shot in 1.33:1 (4:3 - Full Frame) as the director said he wanted to make it like that. Some cinemas seems to be running into problems as they dont have the correct lens and some cinemas already said they wont play the film.

They do. To show a film in 2.35:1 or 1.33:1 (4:3 - Full Frame) both need a different lens. Otherwise they appear very squished! I remember watching a film in a cinema and they refunded my money because the cinema projectionist forgot to change the lens, and I had made a compliant that the picture appears squished. Ask a local cinema if they are suffering the same problem with Delhi 6.

I'm draggin the whole family along cuz I just can't sit through more garbage cinema reaching hit status overseas... I'm sure I alone can't make this film a success (lol) but at least I'll stop feeling guilty about not seeing RDB at the theatres.

Singh is King, Dhoom II, OSO, Fanaa, Race, Welcome, Heyy Baby, Billu Barber? Ugh, how our taste has deteriorated over the last five years.

All cinema halls I've frequented show some commercials in 4x3 and then apply an anamorphic/reverse-anamorphic lens to show the anamorphic feature film from 35mm to 2.35:1 -- as such, no cinema should have a problem in projecting 4x3 from 35mm...

I must be losing my mind for I don't recall the theatrical trailer that I saw being in 4:3 ratio. As far as I can remeber it was normal 2.35:1 anamorphic.

They do. If they have the lens then its not a worry. If the cinema doesnt, which is most likely the film will get a squished look. Same with the adverts, I happen to see them in the cinema in a very squished look.

The theatrical trailer was 4:3 too. I remember seeing that with Billu Barbar with a squished look.

That is correct, they do not need any special lens. All 35mm projectors have a default lens which is 4:3 and it is only for anamorphic movies that hey have to utilize an anamorphic lens to expand the film to widescreen ratio. Thus pretty much all existing theaters are equipped to project 4:3 films. The only reason some may have seen squished 4:3 material, is due to the laziness or lack of knowledge of the projectionist. Basically they just don't want to go thru the trouble of removing the anamorphic lens for the commercials or they simply don't know that they have to do that..
