Hey Guys I managed to get some screen grabs of the Laadla SD version which is Prograssive. No combing seen when PowerDVD is in Forceweave mode, and no flickering when in auto-select.

Thanks Legend.
Many had criticized Super Digital authorings in the past. Surprise after surprise, so many of their DVDs are turning up to be progressive. I never bothered buying their DVDs in the past assuming poor quality. I always thought SD and VS to be the same. Not so. There were lots of titles in VS list that I wanted to buy but never did. Now I'm going to hunt for these progressive DVDs.

After DEI gone, looks like Super Digital's old releases are the ones to go for. Somehow, their new releases don't seem to be progressive.

Avoid the shitty interlaced Videosound Version. Insist on the progressive Superdigital-Videosound version

DVD is Single Layered.
Video is progressive with an avg bit-rate of 2-3.5 MBbps and nearly 6-7 Mbps when there is a song.
Audio is DD 2.1 192 Kbps

For Sunnyaudit (and for others) :- Observe the screenshots. You will see that using a very low bit-rate for erncoding compromises the picture quality when encoding fast moving scenes. Notice the near lack of detail when Anil Kapoor is slapping Sridevi ! (His hand is a Blurr).. Had this been interlaced or pseudo-progressive we would have seen heavy distortions due to combing artifacts , but since the DVD is progressive we are at least able to see Anil Kapoor's face and other details.

Adding to what Michael Hafner wrote I must say, a high bit-rate is necessary to maintain detail in moving sequences. (The so called Super-Bit dvds as released by CTHV)

Does the SD Laadla have subtitles?

Another progressive SD disc is Chemmeen, a Malayalam film. However, it is single layered, which results in pixellation in fast moving objects or when water is moving. The print used has many spots on it.

No subtitles on this..... Beware.. if u find any DVd with subtitles it might be a reprocessed DVD (aka interlaced)

Luckily I have both Deewana Mastana DVDs. Dual layer-High bit rate DVD by VS seems to have been copied from Super Digital's Single Layered Low bit rate DVD. In SD low bit rate, most liukely this pixalization in fast motion will be noticeable. I will compare those scenes and see if that pixelation is retained in the VS High bit rate DVD. If it does, then it will be the proof of VS having copied from SD DVD.

on the VHS days, i noticed there was a scene where anil and anupam were drinking and where anil (possibly) was swearing and it was censored with blank sound. are these scenes censored again or totally omitted?

Thank you gulz for the screenshots. I though Videosound was bad but looks they have the better version.
Videosound's version of Judaai sucks big time both Shemaroo and Eros versions were better

I really wish we get a decent Laadla DVD

I have all the three versions i.e Eros, Shemaroo and Videosound
Best in color is Shemaroo but it is more cropped than eros.

There is also Baba version. Dont know how is the quality.
