Looks like our Guru FarooqBhai got blind sided by the wide aspect ratio without realizing how much the picture has been cut from top and bottom to fool us that it's widescreen/ OAR.

It's obvious from the first SS that it's cut from top and bottom.
Comparing the second SS with DEI-EROS I got confirmation.
But wait, there is more. It's cut from sides too. LOL

that is all fine & well...unfortunately we won't get any release from any manufacturer unless EXCEL home videos...that contains the FULL VERSION of the movie with FULL frame as well...not to mention great quality.

with all these discs running around...it's hard to choose which one to keep? i hate my EROS dvd...quality is horrible. what they showed on zeetv (which i don't have) looks superb...MB is far better to the EROS...DEI is unfortunately the shorter version of the movie...so that goes down the drain...

i went to a store yesterday and finally found the MB disc of HAHk, but the cover showed the ULTRA logo on the top...it's like a small cardboard slipcase or something...it was 6$US, but i didn't buy it...but it did have the MB logo on the left side of the front cover...can you guys confirm if that's the correct one to buy? IF i buy it...

Thats exactly the one I have.

All MB discs list the original dvd authors (Ultra / Bombino etc).

DEI-EROS version is 3 hrs 13 min 13 sec ( Doesn't have Choclate Lime Juice song; this song was added to the film after DEI DVD release and by that time DEI EROS had broken up. ). MB/ Ultra version, as mentioned in one of the posts above is 3 hrs and 17 min. Choc Lime Juice song must be the difference.

How long is the Zee TV version (excluding commercials) ?? Does any version have any more film content than the DEI version once you add Ch LJ song into it ??

Moser Baer version is cut from all sides as compared to DEI. Much worst than Zee TV.

Yet to compare EROS SSs with DEI to check which version cropped in rel to other. We already know Zee version contains less picture area than DEI version.

this would be one of those movies i would LOVE to work on the original on...

another would be swades

another dream would be for LAMHE (by yash chopra) - by far...my most favourite bollywood film of all time...god, my YRF disc sucks...wish there was something a bit more beautiful than this trashy print...

@UL - thanks, got the PM...i guess i will pass on getting the MB for now... :( just very disappointed...by the way, what's the DVD9 size? and are there multiple audio channels? specifically, what is the size of the movie .vobs? trying to see if it would be WORTH IT for me to restore to my own vision and burn my own DVD9...

lastly, why is it that the ultra & mB discs have the same running time, yet interlaced still, come to 3hrs17mins+ while the eros is 3hrs28mins...all 3 @ NTSC already...have the ultra & mb disc ALREADY gotten the PAL speedup? - which WOULD make sense...just curious...thanks.
