Newdeep - I have not seen the film you mention but it seems there is some resemblance.

Sanjeev Kumar is on the run after murdering his boss who attempted to rape his wife. While on the run he jumps into the sea and is assumed to be dead but is saved by Prem Chopra and Simi Gerewal. He has lost his memory and Chopra and Gerewal fool him into impersonating a smuggler. Simi marries Sanjeev and dies after giving birth to Rakesh Roshan.

Meanwhile Sanjeev's first wife give birth to Shatrughan Sinha. Shatru grows up to be a police inspector. Rakesh grows up to be a spoilt criminal.

Shatru is in love with Ranjeeta Kaur. Rakesh Roshan brutally rapes and murder her. Shatru discover the rapist as Rakesh and Sanjeev as the smuggler father of Rakesh. He wants revenge/justice, not knowing Rakesh is his half-brother and Sanjeev his father. Plenty of confrontation between Sanjeev and Shatru... The rest you can imagine!

Since this thread is about Reena Roy, let me mention she is there to comfort Shatru after Ranjeeta's death and one of Asha Bhosle's famous number Disco Station is picturised on her.

Now you have the story, you can judge for yourself whether it's inspired by the film you mention.

Hi Ranaji

I have it on ULTRA VCD. It's not released on DVD but I expect they may release it on DVD one day!

I have uploaded 200 videos covering Reena Roy's entire songography on You Tube. There are also some rare interview clips.

Since this topic has been bought back to life, could anyone assist me in getting hold of this vcd:

Bhagyalaxmi (1978) GUJARATI

Cast: Shatrughan Sinha, Reena Roy, Kiran Kumar, Reeta Bhaduri and Amjad Khan

Its released by Mosearbear but they don't ship outside India. I need it delivered to UK.

Here is Reena Roy's GUJARATI Style clip on You Tube:

I don't understand Gujji, could someone translate it for me!

Thanks :)
