Might be a lost cause this one as its more likely Eros has rights to Devdas - the trailer usually does mean an Eros release.

Also three of the most advertised films on B4U TV at the moment are Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Hum Aapke Hain Sanam, and Devdas - all with Eros website address on them.

Ali,

Ek Rishtaa was advertised on ERO$ DVDs as well but was released DEI. Hum Saath Saath Hain same thing. What happened there? Did ERO$ 1st have the rights and then DEI stole the rights from under them? Hope they do that again with Devdas... :xmas:

Very true say urbanlegend, that would be our last hope for getting a decent DVD.

I haven't seen the DVD yet, but when I saw the movie in the Theater here in NY, I saw these trailers. They came after the Eros logo which is when the movie is supposed to start, and it seemed to be low quality, like off of the satellite dish.

Pretty weird, but I guess that's what's on the DVD too! :keh:

In an interview on TV, Ram Gopal Verma in answer to rumours that he had added the Altaf Raja song to the film after release, stated that he had not even shot the song so the question of him adding it back to the film does not even arise.

That still does not mean that he shot the song right, faddy. Might have been somebody else directing it although the song Jaan from Jungle and Mast(sung & starring Sandeep chowta) from Mast were shot by him. RGV always has an extra song for tv publicity that is not included in the film. Mast had another great song "Mere Dil Ki Malika" that is not in the film.

faddy, this song is in the DVD I bought yesterday. The song seem like it was put together with editing. Whenevr the driver guy comes, the aspect ratio is different. The other parts are just parts cut out of the original film which are in a wider aspect ratio.

Personally I didnt like the video. Great earthy sounding song though. By the way is there any difference between the Khallas song in the film and the extras. I was just scanning the DVD yesterday and did not have time to compare them. They looked the same

First of all, the video of the Altaf Raja song is there on the DVD which has actually 4 videos and not 3 as mentioned on the packaging. Secondly, he is not bull shitting for what you see is a video made from just edited scenes of the film for the music promos. By the way a video of a song is not neccesarily the same as a song shot as part of the film. Hollywood does that all the time for their films, releasing music videos from the original soundtrack of the film, which does not mean there are actually songs shot for and included in the film.

The song on the video is a remixed version of the original song in the film, although the video uses footage from the song presented in the film.
While we are talkign about these videos, what is dissapointing is that these are not presented in 5.1 sound. This is also almost always the case with the Hollywwod DVDs wherein they have music videos in the Special features. I mean come on guys, after all what other than music requires the extra fidelity of 5.1 sound.

I just saw the DVD...

Same ol' Eros...

Dark scenes lacking detail...
and the print sucks.
this movie was definitely shot with a glossy film stock, and all the grain is clearly the fault of the film processing.
in the same scene, when it cuts to a shot you saw clearly a second ago, it's all grainy and the colors are off.
look at the scene when malik and chandu kill off sharma.

the dvd isn't terrible... but it's not where it needs to be.
hey, at least it's not squeezed (you listenin, DEI?).
splice marks are regularly apparent.

can't comment on the audio... my system's bust.

the movie wasn't bad, better than the usual dredge.. but rgp's direction a many times was questionable to me.
this guys loves wide angle lenses a bit too much.

I also noticed the editing splices on this disc and was surprised as the film was edited on AVID which shouldn't present any major splices problems. Yet I still see them appear all of new movies from EROS. They must be using another source instead of an interpostive print or even a postive cinema print.

Just can't work it out????

Sunny, avid has nothing to do with splice marks. The lab is one do be blamed. Of course Eros should have matted the marks if they are so bad.

Sunny,
the point about splice marks has been discussed to death. It has nothing to do with the film being edited on AVID. More than likely, EROS used a positive cinema print.

I just received the DVD from IW and the sound on the feature plays fine, but when I put it on any of the special features there is no sound at all!

The damn thing won't play in my computer cuz it says that I need a 32 bit CD-rom driver. That's a whole another story.

Has anyone else had this problem. I have a Kenwood receiver and it hasn't given me this prob before. It could be a defective DVD, so I emailed IW.

Please Helppp!!

Raj
