Post subject: VHS vs DVD hindi films
PostPosted: Wed Feb 07, 2007 3:41 am
my parents and I prefer to buy VHS hindi films and we rarely buy Bollywood dvds.
For many reasons bollywood films in VHS format have good advantage over hindi dvds:
-Most Vhs hindi films have no blur while hindi dvds such as Vivah has blur
-VHS hindi films play uniformly without the frame stop and pause on scenes like hindi dvds
-VHS picture quality is pretty good compared to many substandard original hindi dvd picture quality
-VHS does not squish the picture as hindi dvds often do because of cropping.
I would encourage people to buy hindi VHS over the poorly made crappy hindi dvds dished out to the consumer. Just my opinion.

btw, UrbanL and Yuvan, I did like Malamaal Weekly, you may have overlooked my pro comment on it.

jadoo dont they just record the dvd print onto vhs?
and dont they just keep on recording over the previous stuff that was on that vhs until it totally finished? the last time i saw a original vhs was when koyla came out the rest were just ripped from another vhs, so how can the print be better? i dont even recall vhs of new hollywood movies at blockbuster, why dont you just rent the dvd and record it to vhs from their at least you will know the vhs was not used a 100 times before that

Izzy, thanks for your comments. We get vhs and that works out well for us and we don’t have time to rent, stores give us one day rental with late fee charge and who has time to go back and forth to get to the stores each time for a rental movie, besides many stores we go to don’t even offer rental. Not into bothering with the 4 or 5 hours it takes to download, and copying still requires purchase of dvd or rental fees, vhs tape or disc to copy on. Rather buy the vhs to avoid the glitches of hindi dvds.
