Has anyone seen any the Music India verison released on DVD?

I've seen nehaflix sell them, but not sure on the quality. Any comments?

I loved Mawaali, it captured the island of Mauritius (where my mum is from) rather well. It was also a fun filled masala story, which made for good timepass. Three Cheers for the Padmalaya Banner - tacky "NTR" gym dances, OTT melodrama, rib tickling comedy, and dated Indian values...almost sounds like an Indian film produced in present times (hehehe)...

I'm also a big fan of Dada Konde Cinema, I loved his Marathi classic Pandu Hawaldar, and his Hindi comedies Tere Mere Beech Mein and Andheri Raat Mein...Diya Tere Haath Mein. The character actor Amjad Khan always shone in his films. Some argue that his films were filled with vulgar sexual innuendo, their crude double entendre. However, for me he was a popularist entertainer who knew how to reach his target audiences.

i gotta admit,

Mawaali is a great film. i loved the songs, the acting, overacting,

its a typical 80's sledge-hammer, in your face pot-boiler

you know, at that time, nobody cared about anything other than watching an entertaining film and films like Mawaali were full of ENTERTAINMENT

other great films from Jeetendra-Padmalaya banner: Himmatwala, Tohfa, Justice Chaudhary

as for Mawaali DVD, well........the same company has released films like JAANI DUSHMAN (Sanjeev Kumar) and Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb which were AWFUL DVDS.

picture this.... Jaani Dushman is cut by 45 minutes! and also has perhaps one of the worst prints i ever seen. Even the VHS could beat it anyday

Amar Akbar Anthony had the qawaali song Parda Hai Parda missing as well as many other parts of the film...

so keeping that in mind,i really think these will be on the same level Sunny
