Hi everyone!

I have a question, I want to buy Don on DVD but I don't know which version to buy! I've seen the DEI/BEI version, but I have not seen the Baba version. Which one is better? And also, does the Baba one have subtitles in the songs? I know the DEI one doesn't, which is quite odd cos they always put subs in the songs!

Thank you for the help! :)

Don't know if the Baba version has subtitles for the songs, but the BEI version definitely does. I guess they were added when the DVD was re-released.

Yep, that's the one I have - I got it from India Weekly too. Was yours definitely the BEI one and not the DEI?

I think the one I saw was from DEI.. but didn't DEI become BEI?

So this means that BEI released their own version of the DEI one with subtitles in the songs? :?

Looks like it. I think that was the case with quite a few of the BEI re-releases.

I owned the "DEI" verison of "Don," but, unfortunately, it stopped working. I kept it in great condition, and there wasn't a scratch on it, but it just stopped running about halfway through the movie. Although I was pissed (and unable to contact DEI), I loved the transfer so much, that I decided to just buy another copy. To my surprise, I got a BEI copy. (I had no idea that BEI was actually DEI.) Angry and confused, but with the DVD in my possession, I decided to try it out. I was surprised to find that (barring a a "BEI" logo plastered over the "DEI" one, on the menu) the actual movie looked (and sounded) exactly as brilliant as did my original DEI version. I never had a chance to test the subtitles on my DEI copy (and I no longer own it), but the BEI one does, indeed, have subtitles on the songs. I also tried the Baba version once (Netflix), just out of curiousity: it's not so terrible as you might imagine, but not in so much as a single way, does it best the DEI/BEI version. Hope this helps.

... oddly the Eros own website still has the Baba/DEI version of the DVD. :?

Was looking at Tesco online store for this Don and found the Spark version...

Image

... this is mostly likely the same as DEI transfer DVD as Spark have done this with other DEI titles.

All DEI/BEI transfers are being sold in uk as SPARK ULTIMATE COLLECTIONS for £5 each. The transfers are brilliant DEI quality.
I have got the following DEI/SPARK ULTIMATE COLLECTIONS titles:
Kaalia
Parvarish
Don
Adalat
Pukar
Kasme Vaade
Anand
Nastik
Hera Pheri
and many more...
