Hopefully people who read this forum will avoid these dvds and if the word gets out, and people stop buying crap, maybe the quality will improve.

i'm a defender of the ddlj dvd (maybe because i paid a good deal of money for it) ???

sure the picture and sound should have been much better, but when you've been waiting to buy a film of this caliber on dvd for the longest time, how can you resist buying it?

plus the picture isn't as terrible in anamorphic mode.

holding out and not buying it may send a message to yrf, but who has the kind of patience to wait for a possible 2nd edition? i'm not condoning the crap thrown out by yrf but i just don't have the patience to wait for that "perfect" dvd that may never come.

I personally still have a pirated version of the movie which is miles ahead of this original cr*p. I bought the original in hopes of getting better picture quality. I thought that even if it is like KKHH, Mohabbatein then it is worth it along with the extras, but boy was I wrong! I guess I am just upset that I spent so much money on this DVD and it was even worth half of that amount.

Hum dil de chukke sanam by Spark (fairdeal entertainment) avoid this like the plague! Even though it was advertised as the 'official' release, the DEI one is far superior!
also avoid Vaastav (eros) taal (eros) Darr (eros) ...basically anything by eros!

Also avoid Hera pheri by video sound, which was a good film, crap dvd!

Avoid:

- ARTH (Sky)
- MASOOM (Baba)

Two brilliant movies with messed up picture and sound quality.

I have to agree with the selection of "Aks": At least most "bad/horrible DVDs" work. I've gone through several copies of "Aks," and none has worked significantly past the intermission. I contacted Eros: they told me that, as I did not buy it directly from them, it's not their problem. Some customer service and integrity these manufacturers have, huh?
