I mean this one --> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088031/ :)

I saw ARTH on Sky DVD yesterday (absolutely brilliant movie!), and it was directed by Mahesh Bhatt. I didn't know he used to make such movies in his early days. The Sky DVD was horrible by the way, soft picture, washed out colours and very very bad audio. :(

So can anyone tell if there's a Saaransh DVD? :wink:

Shuman, glad to see you are still around, bud!

The lady next to Anupam Kher is Rohini Hattangadi - she gave some superb performances in art films of the 1980s. Even as a 'naukarani' in Mahesh Bhatt's ARTH, she leaves a lasting impression... There was a film called HUM DO HAMARE DO made around the same time, starring Raj Babbar and Smita Patil... Rohini Hattangadi is a very poor mother with about dozen children that she cannot feed... In the end she makes a special pudding ('Kheer') with poison in it, and kills them all... What would they have become if she didn't, she questions herself: thieves, prostitutes? Very emotional stuff... Hattangadi always did the most difficult roles....

On ARTH again, Parveen Babi was to originally do Smita Patil roles, as the film was allegedly based on Babi's adulturous relationship with Mahesh Bhatt. Not sure if this was just a rumour, but Babi's mental neourisis seems to be well depicted by Smita Patil.
