-Gentleman
-Pammal K. Samandham
-Thenali (BMD also released this, but Ayngaran's is probably better)
-Kadhalikka Neramillai

Trust me, get Bombay. Ayngaran have made this an anamorphic disc closer to the original aspect ratio. The fact that Uyire is dubbed may be off-putting, but if you want better picture, you may want to get that one. Wasn't there a comparison between Uyire and Dil Se here a while ago?

6) Suryan: Sarath Kumar, Roja
Dir: Pavithran Mus: Deva

Very good action movie for its time (I think it was released in the early 90's). "South Indian Schwarzenegger" Sharath Kumar excels in action (thankfully, no real need for him to display his acting capabilities) and Roja is seductive. Big explosions, a huge man bashing in somebody's head, some decent songs, and for the SKNaths amongst us , a psycho villain who gets his kick by tying down a girl wearing minimum clothing, and letting loose live crabs :DD: . What more can you ask for?

Mate go for the following DVD's which are of high class story-telling at its best, it will complement your already decent collection:

Kasi:- a rural story of a blind man (played wonderfully by Vikram) trying to make a living so that his younger sister can get married. This film has one of the most detestable screen villians in a long time, and a ending that will put you in tears and shock. Great acting, wonderful songs, and a top story.

Nanndha:- the film looks at a young boy who murders his father. His dumb mother detests her son and alienation grows between them. Another wondfully told story, with another stunning end that will be debated for many years.

Agahzhi:- Nandita Das debut in tamil cinema and a great one at that. A simple tale of a woman who meets her first love many years later to find him married with children. Despite knowing this her feelings towards him are still as strong...

Pammal K. Sambhandham:- Kamal Hassan Comedy film about a stunt man who hates the word love. The film has wonderful dialouges, puns, and comic moments that David Dhawan will sure nick for his films! The ending is a tad predictable, but Kamal is on top form and Simran looks stunning in the songs.

Friends:- A warm tale about three male mates who are spending the summer doing a part-time work in construction. One of the mates fall in love with a girl who is adimant on breaking up thier friendship after an mis-understanding. Again the direction, and screenplay is well done. The technical work is also quite good, and shows on DVD.

Anandam:- A family tale that in my opinion is far superior in plot then K3G, and was a smash box-office hit. It looks at four brothers (headed by the excellent Mamooty) and thier love for each other. Melodrama at its best and has no cringing moments normally found within some family films.

The one you should get free is either:-

Thenali- Kamal Hassan performance as a Sri-Lankan Tamilian refugee in India and A.R. Rahman wonderful experimental score is one worth looking at. The DVD has one of the best 5.1 sounds ever.

(or)

Parthale Paravasam:- Despite being a box-office disapointment, the film is overlooked for its wonderful music score by A.R. Rahman and good acting from Simran. The plot is at times weak but it is of intrested. The film looks at a couple who get married but the wife finds out that her husband has a small son growning up in London. On this basis they divorce, but they remain firends and both decide to find each other a partner to marry.
