BJV..you da man ! Great indeed.... I sincerely hope there is a Criterion release of SHOLAY ( at least in my lifetime). It surely deserves that treatment...

On another note..does anyone know of any site where I can get
THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST , for a real good deal ?

sknath,
try this
http://www.bargainflix.com/search/ShowT ... 11984-0006
I personally would recomment http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com for 2 reasons :
1) They have free shipping.
2) I have already bought from them couple of times. They are fast and reliable.

BJV thanks for the info..DD Dvd looks good but I think I will first do a search in the flea markets before I decide to buy that DVD... I wanna lay my hands on that cos of its storyline... ( at least something that ridicules the Catholic Church.. those bunch of hypocrites and sex addicts !)

Did you feel that I insinuated abt that in any way ?... Nopes

The Catholic church stands for the following :-

No Contraceptives...No PM sex...and not use condoms when u wanna have u-know-what !.. And they take great pleasure in projecting Jesus as a holier-than-thou "person" ( hence the so called Holy Trinity etc...all that bull and crap).

What this film shows that what would have happened had Jesus decided to lead the life of a normal human being...and had all those qualities which the Church opposed !
Esp..the so called Sex scene between Mary Magdalene and Jesus ( which is a first for me also as I was raised with strong Christian teachings !)

The whole issue there was that I needed that DVD By Criterion and not any religion bashing here :)

i emailed criterion waaaaaaaaaaaaay back to do sholay... but emailed me back saying its not a movie on their agenda as of yet!! doubt they`ll do it but there u go.. no harm in trying..!! I think there is a bigger chance for criterion to remaster Lagaan or Asoka rather than sholay

Did anyone notice that Dil Se is also being talked about :) ...I always thought Dil Se, Sholay, Lagaan and Dil Chahta Hai should be redone respectively...Also why chinese films like In The Mood for Love get a Criterion dvd and Sholay, Lagaan don't. Lagaan made more money (even in video sales) then In The Mood For Love...

Criterion releasing "Lagaan" is unlikely. Columbia Tristar does not license films out to 3rd parties like Criterion, and they probably retain the US rights.
