There from the DVDrip - DVD-r - posted on desitorrents.

Ali

Duh ! - can someone post screenshots from the DVD ?? , usually i have noticed that on indian DVDs RED colour is over saturated (Paheli - ABs turban) , but in the screenshots provided Amir Khan's uniform "looks" natural - perhaps this will turn out to be a good DVD also ( a la Parineeta ??)

YRF DVD=PARINEETA..Dremin

They gave us Meenaxi ( ** kisses my copy **) so who knows  , perhaps they have been watching Zulmies bitch about their DVDs

Overall it looks clean - some slight digital manipulation (Amisha's face) or is it just compression artifacts of a DVD-rip ?

I dont have interst in the movie - so it will be a pass for me

Arsh, save your Laddoos for some other DVD. May be Kaal??

Mangal Pandey YRF DVD is no different than other recent run of the mill YRF DVDs.

It's Field Averaged Interlaced. Forget about Columbia Tristar, it's not even DEI-EROS standard.

I knew that all along and was trying to hint to soil!
My ladoos are for day when bollywood dvds will become equivalent to CT dvds, I'll happily pay then!

Can someone explain what is the difference between "Mangal Panday - The Risging" and "The Rising - the Ballad of Mangal Panday" other than the title?

What are the differences? Which version is better? Is any version cut?

I've seen "The Rising - the Ballad of Mangal Panday" and I want to know which is the better one to get on DVD.

I've only seen the English version ('The Rising: Ballad of Mangal Panday') but as far as I know, nothing has been cut from either version. The Indian version ('Mangal Panday: The Rising') simply adds a voice-over by Om Puri over the English-spoken scenes.

I received my copy yesterday and it seems the UK is just getting the Indian version the same as everyone else and not 'Ballad of Mangal Pandey' as advertised, so it looks like the English version isn't going to see the light of day on DVD.

If YRF were only going to release one version, it seems strange they'd choose the Hindi version since the film was aimed at the international market anyway. :?
