I hope I'm wrong on this one and the one for shipment in India is the real PAL version which should be Progressive by default if Telecine was in PAL. Note that EROS colored MEA is PAL to NTSC converted Field Averaged. Most likely, Shemaroo overseas version is really PAL to NTSC converted Field Averaged, just like EROS's.

Shemaroo DVD is NTSC and is Pseudo-Progressive. DVD cover states, "For distribution in India Nepal and Bhutan only"
(But, usual chroma lagging behind luminance problem; hence, pixel comparing routines may or may not detect the 2-3 pull down)

Bit rate is 3.5-5 mbps. Audio is DD 5.1 @ 384 kbps

What? They have STILL not fixed this after all these years? MORONS!

Hi !

I rented this DVD by mail and received a DVD+R !

Normally, that would not be so bad if it was a prefect copy, but this one is DVD-5 (ie 4.5 GB).

Am I correct to assume that the EROS DVD is DVD-9 (ie 8.5 GB) ?

If so, then it seems that this place does not have dual-layer-burners and so used DVD-Shrink (or equivalent) to put the movie on a single layer DVD.

Sure, you got a a, first generation or further, shrunk copy of EROS Mughl-e-Azam. EROS M-E-A is Field Averaged. Shemaroo (Arsh, shots please) is Pseudo-Progressive and way better. Both are close to 8 GB on main feature disc plus the extras disc.

I'll send to ali or legend today!
thnx for reminder!

This negative scan is much worst than DVD, EROS or Shemaroo.
Why??
This negative shows what was shown in North American theatres. And they used scope lens which resulted in picture looking too fat?? What's the horizontal expansion ratio of scope lens??
Any comments??

Arsh, as per screen shots I hardly see Shemaroo any better than EROS?? This puzzles me. On my display, Shemaroo looks much better and sharper??
Any comments??

Indeed I did too!! saw Shemaroo much better than Eros, much smoother especially in motion scenes etc and a bit otherise too!!

Whatever if panchand guru think Eros is better or same well, let it be!

But remember Screen shots are not always every thing, and XVID always look superior than ORIG DVD :?:

It's beyond my eye/ PC-display resolution capability.

But, one thing for sure, EROS is Film to PAL to NTSC and runs 4% faster than Shemaroo's Film to NTSC DVD. (I started checking for run time descrepencies bet these two DVDs, old shemaroo B&W DVD and old VHS copy; it'll take very long time but I'll find out the differences).

I can't tell the difference between the Eros and Shemaroo version - at least from the screen shots.. both look identical to me.
