"The new album will also feature an additional song Zin Zinak Zin. The song, which is sung as a preparation for the cricket match in the film, is part of the film's DVD format but hasn't been seen before on the large screen"

Is this the same as "Chale Chalo"? This was picturized to the group running and practicing.

Album of Lagaan's dialogues to be released

A new promotional tactic by Sony Music sees the release of Aamir Khan's blockbuster Lagaan's dialogues on a double album set.

The new album will also feature an additional song Zin Zinak Zin. The song, which is sung as a preparation for the cricket match in the film, is part of the film's DVD format but hasn't been seen before on the large screen.

What in the world are they talking about? I didn't notice a new song, and I've seen Lagaan 4 times...

The only new song I noticed was O Paalanhare rendered by Sadhna Sargam, along with Lata, and that was just a re-rendition.

I would appreciate getting some more deleted scenes for Lagaan.

Where on the DVD is it? I don't recall ever seeing this song.

Yeah, I read an article about some new song called "Zin Zinak Zin", too. If you go to SmasHits.com, they have a little blurb about it at the end of the article where Mahesh Bhatt is bitching about how Lagaan shouldn't try to cater so much to westerners (whatever...)

"Meanwhile, the Lagaan juggernaut rolls on. Aamir has decided to release a twin-cassette pack on March 23 - two days before the Oscar finals - featuring songs and dialogues from the film. A new song, 'Zin Zinak Zin', which was left out on the editing table, will be added to the film. Sources close to Aamir say that on second thoughts he feels that the song is well shot and is unique in its presentation, with the entire team of 11 and Gauri participating in it. It is typical folk stuff and captures the spirit and essence of the film. It will be added to all the film DVDs that are released in the market in the coming months."

The song description seems to be like "Chale Chalo." But I'm more interested in the last line. Does that mean they're going to re-release the DVD with the new song included? Hopefully, they'll wait 'til after it has been re-released theatrically in the U.S. and Europe, and then gauging the audience response (which I'm hoping will be pretty good), they may make a DVD like we had hoped for in the beginning: 2-disc set and all.

Aww, man. I don't want to have to rebuy "Lagaan." But if they release a 2-disc version, I will be compelled to.

:baaa: :D :(
