Synopsis: This film is Poetry on Celluloid as is said. It is one of the best, engrossing, endearing and entertaining, musical love stories made in Telugu in recent times and not surprisingly is one of the biggest money spinners.

Siri (Trisha) and Sivarama Krishna (Srihari) are orphans. In pursuit of riches, their father had deserted their mother for another woman. And their mother passes away. Sivaramakrishna develops an aversion for the rich and the affluent who he thinks have no heart andknow no meaning of true love. Sivarama Krishna (Srihari) brings up his little sister Siri and gives all the love and affection and is also very protective of her. Santosh (Siddardh) who is the only son of a London-based NRI ( Prakash Raj) visits India to attend a relative's wedding. There he meets Siri, who is poles apart from him, when it comes to upbringing and family background. The inevitable happens and they fall in love. Santosh's mother who does not approve of this, insults Siri and accuses her of trapping her son, with an eye on their wealth. Sivaram’s hatred for the rich only solidifies and he takes his sister back to their town with simmering resentment towards the whole fraternity.

Santosh lands in Siris’s town and pleads with Sivarama Krishna to give a chance to prove his love. After much effort,Sivarama Krishna asks Santosh to work as a labor in his farm. He also gives 1 acre of land and asks Santosh to cultivate the land and show that he can harvest more produce, than Sivaram himself. The rest of the story is all about how, Santosh wins the bet, as well as the heart of Sivarama Krishna. Srihari is amazing as the doting brother. Prakash Raj gives yet another controlled performance as the supporting father of the hero. Siddarth and Trisha excel in their roles as the tender lovers. Each and every character in the film leaves an impression.

Direction by Prabhudeva is excellent. His aesthetic cinematic sense and the ability to capture tender emotions, his energy are reflected in every frame. Technically too, this film is outstanding in all departments like Back ground score, Songs, Cinematography ( by National award winning cinematographer Venugopal) , Dialogues , Choreography and so on. This film will be cherished by the audiences for many many years.

The first half of the movie was good. The song Something Something was great. The second half was average. On the whole the movie was good.

The synopsis of the movie sounds a lot like Maine Pyar Kiya story.

The story is a mix of Maine Pyar Kiya and Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya. But it is fun to watch.

I just wanted to add that the cinematography of the movie is just wonderful. I don't think this dvd does 100% justice to the poetic camerawork of Venugopal.

As said earlier, while its a good timepass movies its a mix masala of various Hindi movies from the Yash Chopra/Rajshri films - no new story or ideas. Moreover there is lots of overacting all around and some stupid comedy especially in the first half.

And now apparently its being remade in tamil with Trisha and Ravi
