I've only listened to the first two tracks so far, but they're interesting.

Just listened to Mayilirage. ARR should stop using Madhushree in Tamil. Her pronunciation is even worse than in Sandai Kozhi (or "kodi" as she said it) from Aayitha Ezhuthu.

Her etc, Pronunciation has been Iccky lately, especially for poets like Gulzar/Javed who write pure Urdu, these singers stink when they mis pronounce , just changing the meaning exactly and entirely different from what it was written for!

Not knowing the language might be blessing in disguise, but if you know it stinks badly!

I suggest, composer should make Lyricist available, if not on recording but atleast while rehearsing. now a days when all Hindi singers singing Tamil, Punjabi, hindi era waghera etc etc! both ways!! But I think no one cares!!

I dont know whether Gulzar/Javed etc, ever listen to their albums, and if they do? how do they feel? Do they ever try to influence/act/suggest to overcome this issue? or they simply do not care? :?:

I am listening to it right now , i am un-impressed by this. Perhaps its my hatred for S.J Surya ( he is the director right ?) - i think he is plain obscene , if i ever run into this guy i will make sure i puke on him  . I watched 30 mins of 'New' and switched it off and this is coming from a guy who loves John Waters !

The songs are not too bad. Better than New, IMO. Thigu Thigu has a classic feel to it.

I have not seen any of SJS' films. Should I keep that streak going?

Songs are okay, but Thiku Thiku is pretty good, just for the melting voice from SPB. I need to listen to the CD before I can comment on the songs, because sometime the MP3 quality could kill the song.

BTW Kushi and Vaali are good, but New is a garbage.

I don't how you Tamilans put up with Udit Narayanan. He just started singing in Malayalam and he is pretty horrible with the language. But Karthik, the Tamil singer has done some really good Malayalam songs.

Udit Narayan in Tamil, what a disgrace! ARR himself has said in an interview that he is not concerned with pronunciation and that it is up to the singer to practice it. Surprising, considering how meticulous he is with the orchestrations, why would he want to ruin a very important part of a song, which is the vocals?

Udit Narayan must be pretty popular in Telugu also. I've seen a few Telugu CDs of just his songs. I've also seen a CD of Sukhvinder Singh songs.

I just listened to the .mp3s. Mayilirage is the best track. I have it on repeat in my car! The first track is also good. Def better than Boys/New, and although I like the way ARR usually sings, he should've let majority of the first track to SPB to sing with some authority!! Mayilirage is the first ARR track that I truly like since 'Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera', and 'Anarakali'. One track with kavitha krishnamoorthy from Mangal Pandey is decent but nothing special. Overall, I prefer Ah Aah over Mangal Pandey.

SJ Surya's Kushi was nice. Mani Sharma remade an yesteryear tune that is unforgettable! The male singer was superb. Telugu Kushi has the best music of the 3. While on Mani Sharma, he is the sole reason for Udit's popularity in Telugu films. if you see an Udits compilation disc, it's probably all Mani tunes! Udit was good in Kadhalan ;) Listen to Mani tunes for Udit, it's hard to hate him, unless he's not singing for Mani, then I just want to kick him in the face

as far as pronounciation is concerned, "thamizh" has difficult tongue twisters. give them a break. :P i'm sick of some of the redundant native tamil singers anyhoo.
