I absolutely agree with you. I have all faith in Farhan Akhtar as a script writer and a director. The thing is, why would a person of his "calibre" remake a film which almost everyone is familiar with? It's like wasting the talent he has in doing something which is not as original as DIL CHAHTA HAI and LAKSHYA. It's like taking a step back.
Although I have to agree with MalFunxion too, that such a film could be really good if Farhan only uses the basis plot and gives the film a real substance and a completely different setting and style, instead of "just a cool film like DON".
From that point of view, I have no objection. It's just that it's like there are no original ideas left in Indian cinema.
