It's celebration time for Shemaroo. The DVD made by the Home Video market leader has won the "BEST DVD CREATION FOR TELECINE AND AUTHORING EXCELLENCE" award at the DVD Disc-Tech Awards 2005.

The award comes as recognition to the efforts Shemaroo makes with each of its home video products of delivering VCDs and DVDs of whose sound and picture quality matches international standards and at prices that make value-for-money buys.

The award was declared by Optical Disc Systems (ODS) Magazine at the 5th Disc Tech Expo 2005. It was awarded by Mr. Anil Chopra, Editor and Publisher of ODS. ODS is an international Optical Recording Media Industry magazine.

Though a relatively recent concept, BAGHBAN faced a competition from most other recent DVD releases. But it was the excellent picture quality that made superior viewing experience.

The Telecine and Authoring of the BAGHBAN DVD...

While a normal telecine process for a film takes twenty hours of shot-by-shot colour correction, the BAGHBAN DVD was dedicated to 60 hours of telecine, with frame-by-frame colour correction. Every frame went through a secondary colour correction process, which is an intensive colour correction generally used for advertisements, promos and music videos. In addition to this, interactive menus were creatively added to make the DVD user-friendly. Sound options of Original Dolby 5.1 and Stereo were also given to the viewers. This had tremendously enhanced the DVD viewing experience.

It is a proud moment for Shemaroo and on this occasion Shemaroo's joint MD, Mr. Atul Maru expressed his joy on winning the award. "BAGHBAN is the jewel of our collection and we are glad its excellent print quality and digital mastering has been appreciated. "Mr. Hiren Gada, VP - Shemaroo Video added, "Quality Content has always been Shemaroo's prime forte of excellence and we aim to continue delivering the best."

BAGHBAN - B R Chopra's creation, which was acclaimed the universal super hit of 2003 is also said to be one of the greatest family entertainers of all times.

The Collector's Edition DVD of BAGHBAN is a packaged with Special Features, which include

16x9 Anamorphic DVD (2.35:1 Aspect Ratio) for widescreen televisions.

Not necessarily - if this was a India-only thing, then Baghban probably is the best DVD released - after all, which other companies do they have to compare to? Ultra and T-Series?!

What was great about pixellated baghban from shemaroo? can some one explain?
