This DVD doesnt have the usual yashraj hologram. Instead they embedded their "Y" symbol in "Braille", which I noticed in Rani's face.

According to BBFC database film is 124m 41s

That proves the 4% speec shift of PAL (or 25 fps) telecine. I could not make out whether it was NTSC telecine Field Averaged or PAL (or 25fps) to NTSC converted Field Averaged.

Any thoughts how and why 5 out of of 6 voters, so far, thought this NTSC DVD to be worthy of 4 out of 5 in DVD quality??


How come PARSAD the :twisted: could do Des Hoya Pardes a PROGESSIVELY encoded DVD?

Left hand not knowing what right hand is doing or even what the same hand is doing.

Step # 1
Telecine

Step 2:
Whatever telecine, encode NTSC DVD. Equipment is most likely automatic capable of receiving any format and outputting to any format. Result is automatic Field Averaged frames.

Technical competence: Someone spends crores of rupees reviving MEA. DTS and DD both available. Now, the distributors as well as the exhibitors don't know what DTS is and whether the theatre is DD or DTS capable. They can't notice whether pic is squashed or stretched. Even if they notice, they don't know how to fix it. Result: Wasted money, effort and time.

Comparison shots from the R2 PAL DVD by French label Bodega...

Definitely by far the best DVD from Bodega to date. For once, they have not softened the video and have left the colours as they were originally. The disc is basically identical to the Yash Raj DVD, except without the NTSC conversion. Audio and extras are identical also. Recommended.
