The original Ayyangran release is the best so far but is not available any more. Only way is exact code transfers or pirates.

Origin release was Pseudo-prog where every 4th field was repeated and hence it also had correct 2-3 pull down. All other releases are PAL to NTSC converted Field Averaged. Don't be fooled by Ayyangran's later anamorphic release.

Here is the link to original release screen caps:
(BTW, these shots are not anamorphic although the DVD cover falsely states it to be anamorphic.)

The latest one is also good. It has DTS as well. Will post screen shot later.

No, it's not good.
It has DTS sure, it's anamorphic sure, but it's video is PAL to NTSC converted Field Averaged.

DVDUnlimited, screenshots have already been posted for the anamorphic DTS version.

It seems like Kino can only do silent films on DVD properly

Yes, Arsh's right.
The anamorphic/DTS version has two big problems:

1. the DTS track is not snychro with the image. The sound is 0.5 to 1 second late.
2. the subtitles become unsynchronized from the middle of the film to the end. But not like 0.5 second, I'm talking about several seconds like 10 and sometimes more !

So that anamorphic/DTS version is for those who understand Tamil. Those don't need the bad subs and can watch it with the Dolby Digital 5.1 track which perfectly ok.

Okay.. I have got 2 copies. 1 Reserved for Mr Arsh.. If someone want to buy the second one... NO need to rush, since I am going to get more copies of the old version.

I am posting the artwork and the DISC inside just to make sure that this is the original non anamorphic version (sorry, my camera is not all that great!)
