A quick survey, if you were able to rate\review retailers for others benefit, would you use the feature on a website?

I personally hate long winded reviews and rating procedure so would a quick and dirty "register and rate" fo different retailers work for you?

Nads nope, that would not be a good idea if :-

1.) The retailer is a new one

2.) The user is new...

Thats cos folks would definately like to know some experiences vis-a-vis shipping time, cust service etc etc before they make a purchase. And I am talking abt Online retailers.

Hell till last year we had folks singing peans abt INDIAPLAZA until some well informed folks posted their views abt IP and then all the skeletons came tumbling out. Now I think Indiaplaza is the most hated place, and I am sure many more folks will be educated abt them once they come to know what kinda crooked ppl they are. This cannot be explained in a few lines...you need some detailed letters and posts of cos.

It is also interesting to read these posts...some bitching once in a while is always good...But it should be always targetted towards the main point !

thanks for the info sknath, (no ne else seems to want to reply!) i never really thought about the new retailer point.

How about if the site awaited x amount of votes before the rating was made public? - like imdb.com does to prevent this problem.

Other stuff is much more control freak like with checking number of visits made from the site frst before voting was allowed or checking the user has visited the site x amount of times already. I dunno.

From feedback I have received people want something more detailed but I want it left to the users to decide... so good of me.

How about ratings based on

1) Prices
2) Cusotmer Service
3) Easy of Ordering
4) DIsplay of Products
5) Ease in searching what yu want.
6) Phone, email Support
