dvdunlimited, thanks for your kind reply. I contacted themahal and they said its the original verison, and they do not sell pirated copies. They agreed to replace the dvd anyway. I watched the whole movie, eventhought it had stuck at the 8th chapter. I skipped the song, and I was able to watch the movie, not without any stucking but with one or two second delay.

It was a pretty intresting movie to watch once. I am going to get some other movies. Maybe I will get ayutha ezhuthu since I don't care about the subtitle. I saw yuva, and Its the same exact movie with same exact dialouges so Y bother waiting for the ayngaran version.

Hey dont thank me. We are obligated to answer questions like these.

I believe you have some smart DVD player. In my DVD player [daewoo dvd-9500N] it gets stuck at 8th chapter and thats it.

BTW, if you plan to buy Perazagan dont get the Sruthi version. Ayngaran version will be available from Monday.

Have fun man!

Like I mentioned before, Sruthi is all over the place now. We are still debating whether to add them on our site. The only issue is that we have to be prepared for lot of returns. As of today. its a NO for us!

Thanks

dear DVD UNLIMITED,

I really apreciate your reply. I would love to buy from your site, but the prices are little high than the other sites. If you could compete with other sites You will be my first choice, just because you are kind enough to provide some info when needed.

I have a TOSHIBA dvd player.

thank you.

Our price includes shipping. May be we should price with out shipping cost so customers can decide the shipping cost. Lets work on that first.

Thanks for the suggestion

Now this really sucks. My local dvd store bought Sruthi's Ayuthe Ezhuthu dvd. Arghhh!!!! I had enough trouble trying to convice them not to buy DRAGON and other Tamil pirates. Now I don't know if they will buy the orginal AE dvd once Ayngaran releases it. :? :(

They will definitely buy original Ayngaran DVD. We are expecting the sale to be atleast double compared to Kakka Kakka / Boys (they did fairly same amount)

If they didnt, well you can always buy from online site who offer them.

The DVD is not expected until mid August. We will take pre-orders starting from 1st week of August.

Thanks

I went to 2 stores today, and they both had the Sruthi DVD of AE. One also had Machi, and the other had Perazhagan. I wanted to rent Perazhagan but the first store didn't have it, so I hope they had the original but rented it out. Usually the stores from which I rent will not replace the pirate copy with the original. I waited awhile to see if one of the stores got the original Parthiban Kanavu DVD, but after several months they still only had the pirate, so I broke down and rented it.

FYI I ended up renting Thendral today :D

From the retailer's perspective I can understand the reason. I am not sure how much they charge you for rent, but for $2, they would have to rent out atleast 10 times to make some money on each DVD copy. This is on top of potential scratches/damagest caused to the DVD etc. So...

BTW, movie like Machi, you can rent in any quality. doesnt matter.

Whats really funny thing happening here is that these SRUTHI DVD is confusing the market like a hell. Now ppl are wondering if they can openly keep Tamil pirated DVD (not from Sruthi, but from other unknown companies) and they keep emailing us. As far as I am concerned, Ayngaran is out of mind. Instead of controling piracy (just like KAD, iDreams, YashRaj does), they should file a case against store carrying the pirated DVD and start making money from the lawsuit. Dont know what stops them from doing this!!!

Dear Kuttappan

As we promised a while back, we have reduced the price. Now Ayngaran and Tamilini DVDs are 16.99 and Pyramid DVDs are 13.99. We are planning to add Shruthi DVD as well, with an explicit warning that it is VCD/SVCD quality. The price would be 11.99.

Thanks

I agree with you. The store I go to now has Gilli dvd from Sruthi. They are convinced that sruthi brand makes original dvds. If you can't beat the pirates, join the pirates? Who the hell thought of this idea? Ayngaran is really out of their mind.

I also think that Ayngaran is out of mind. They should be carrying out lawsuits against the pirating Tamil DVD companies. When Yash Raj Films cracks down on Piracy they hit hard and Ayngaran should do the same in the USA.

A good example is Canada where none of the Indian companies crack down on piracy the result is piracy is every where. The same thing will happen to the Tamil DVDs if Ayngaran doesn't do something.
