Actor Mehmood passes away

Mumbai: Vetern Bollywood comedian Mehmood Ali passed away on Friday morning at Pensylvania in US, according to his family sources. He was 77.
Mehmood's body will be brought to Mumbai, his brother Usman Ali told PTI.

He died in his sleep, Usman Ali said.

Mehmood was born in 1932 in Mumbai had acted in over 300 films including Padosan, and directed few films.

The last film directed by him was Dushman Duniyaki.

His notable films include, Sabse Bada Rupaiya, Pyar Kiye Jaa, Johar Mehmood in Hongkong.

Mehmood's first major break came in the film Parvarish in 1958.

Some of his memorable performances included the good-hearted rickshawalla in Kunwara Baap, his portrayal of a bus conductor in Bombay to Goa and as a south-Indian music teacher, in Padosan.

His best film as director would have to KUNWARA BAAP which was though melodramatic, nonetheless a touching and emotional story. It did well at the box office too. It has a famous song picturised apparently on his father who's accompanied by the infamous eunuchs of mumbai - SAJ RAHI GALI MERI MAA SUNEHARI <miss this word> MEIN
