yes, we can only say DEI is good or else the forum police will come and get us...get real man; this dvd simply IS BAD. compare it to eros Devdas and you'll see the big difference...i can forgive undetailed picture quality, but the blocking artifacts and totally messed up colour is too much..especially for the price.

I'll say whatever I like, thank you very much! :P :)

 You're a fiesty wench are'nt you? LOL  But he's sooo right!

lol... "Feisty wench??" What are ya, a horny knight from the middle ages?

As for only DEI/BEI DVDs being the only good ones, I'm sure punjabimunda was making a sarcastic remark directed at those who believe so, but anyway I've seen worse DVDs than this one and it's not even close to being one of THE worst ones I've ever seen, so anyone who says "Worst transfer/PQ EVER!" doesn't know what they're talking bout. :)

Got a few Eros 16X9 anamorphic DVD, Devdas, Taal and Kuch naa Kaho. They share the same problem, image is soft. Out of curiosity, I used a software called DVD Descrypter to open these DVDs. On the "Stream Processing" tab, the software shows "Video - 352X480(NTSC)/16:9" for all the three Eros' anamorphic DVDs. Then I tried a few DEI and Hollywood 16X9 anamorphic DVDs, they all shows "Video - 720X480(NTSC)/16:9". I did some research on Internet, DVD with 352X480 resolution is so-called 1/2 DVD, which has 1/2 resolution of a full DVD(720X480). I'm not an expert about DVD. But if I'm not wrong about Eros's 16X9 anamorphic DVD, I think they are actually 1/2 DVD. If Eros keeping using 352X480 to produce DVDs, how good can they be? No wonder why Eros's 16X9 anamorphic DVDs never look better than a decent non-anamorphic letterbox DVDs. If anyone likes to try other Eros 16X9 anamorphic DVDs, you can find the software on http://www.doom9.org/

------------------------
Over 99 % Hollywood DVDs are 720 x 480
Over 95 % of DEI/ BEI DVDs are 720 x 480.
40% of EVP Hindi DVDs are 720 x 480
Some Super Digital and few other DVDs are 720 x 480.

Rest of the Indian DVDs are 352 x 480.

Police -- No. (Even if Police, don't you know Police is our friend, not foe).
Lawyer/ Number Cruncher ----May Be.

I just repeated the factual numbers that Chenyang found and reported.

Isn't it amazing how we produce so many computer scientists and technical experts, yet somehow none of them can figure out how to encode and master DVDs PROPERLY?

i talked to the people at eros. apparently, it was "take your kid to work day" when the MHN dvd was being authored. the person i spoke to noted that "only children of eros employees can screw a dvd up that bad".

jokes aside: for all you MHN dvd lovers, take a close look at the title song and you'll see why some of us call this one of eros' worst. i have never seen so many blocking artifacts on an original dvd.

Well I looked at thie DVd last night and pheeeew! This DVd is bad!. I think Eros out did itself in this one and set the standard for a new low. On the brighter side, it was watchable and I was totally entertained, especial the spoofs on Matrix! It was hilariously stupid! I don't care what you people say SRK rocks! And wow! Amrita! I'm speechless!

That's a good kinda speechless, I hope, right? ;) Amrita is super-cute and reminds me of Kajol in so many ways. I can easily see her becoming the #1 heroine in Bollywood if she continues to refine her acting and keeps choosing good roles that play to her talents.

Let`s put it this way, she can jump me anytime! :P Kajol is one of my fav, but the only similarity I see is the vivacious and spontaineous trait! I don't see any of that mule-ish stubborness in her charactor as I do with Kajol!

There was a DVD review of Main Hoon Naa in the recent India Abroad. The review said that spending $30 dollars on the Eros Entertainment DVD of Main Hoon Naa was 30 dollars well spent. The review said that the biggest treat of this 2 disc DVD is on disc 2 with the extra's from the movie.
