When this film was released it was entitled DOOR-DESH. Not sure why and when the title was changed to GEHRI CHOT. Pakistanti NADEEM and Bangladeshi BABITA appeared in Bollywood for the first time in this film...

Wasn't it the first such film made in Canada, to make use of more than 100% Govt grant for made in Canada films (when this program was introduced). Actors may be South Asians, but if overall cost has a more than 50% Canadian content, it qualified as a Canadian Film.

Armaan you are correct .. the cover states in brackets Door-Desh, I have changed the topic title to reflect it as well.

I think this film was entirely shot in Canada, whilst there is LOVE IN CANADA (Starring Jeetendra, Moushumi Chatterjee, and Vinod Mehra), which was released 4 years before this film.

This movie is Door Desh. I remember seeing it over 20 years ago. It was shot in Canada and the video tape was on Sun Video.
