Here u go ali, DOWNDATE! IMHO  Get ready to shed $20

Irrfan, Tabu, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah & Pankaj Kapur
English Subtitles. Released by Yash Raj.

Based on William Shakespeare's play 'Macbeth', this story revolves around Maqbool (Irrfan), Abbaji (Pankaj Kapoor) and Nimmi (Tabu). Three characters that could have been in any walk of life, in any city in the world, and in any point in time.

Right now, they have chosen to be in the underworld of 21st century Mumbai.

Maqbool is the second-in-command of a gang led by Abbaji, an ageing underworld don. Abbaji is respected by his faithful left-hand Kaka and everyone else in the gang.

But it is love that betrays Abbaji. Nimmi, his young mistress, finds the majestic Maqbool more charming and decides to use the ambitious gangster to get rid of her paramour.

But it's her guilt that she can't get rid of. And carries it around for the rest of the film, as much as the baby she's now carrying in her womb.

Of course, the course of action is correctly predicted periodically by the two police officers - Inspectors Pandit and Purohit. They abet Maqbool's gang and remind us of the two witches from 'Macbeth'. Commentators, observers, and soothsayers.

But perhaps, even they cannot predict the consequences of this dangerous love where there is only one rule: "Fair is foul and foul is Fair".

Availability: Usually ships in 2-3 business days.

MqboolDVD$19.99

I just watched Maqbool couple days ago, and I must say it is an excellent movie. Very similar to Macbeth, but well done. I was a pirate dvd rip but I still enjoyed the movie very much. I can't believe yrf got the rights to this great movie. How the heck did that happen? lol. I hope they get it right this time. But, I doubt it.

For once, I actually don't care spending the extra money. When a film is this damn good, it's not even questionable. MAQBOOL is a masterpiece.

Get a dupe. You'll get the same crappy quality as the original and pay less!

The DVD of Maqbool is out in India by Music Today Home Video. Does anyone own any DVDs by Music Today?? If so how is the PQ.

I haven't bought this DVD yet in India, not sure about how the PQ will be.

I'm surprised that the DVD makers even bothered to add extra features to this DVD: "Making Of Maqbool" & "Music Launch By Aamir Khan". Who knows, maybe, they also might have gone out of there way to perfect on it's PQ & SQ as well. (I can only pray, right!)
