...not sure about the specs of the disc, Sunny can fill us in on that but if people are using this DVD as reference then there is something seriously wrong with their judgment on what should be 'reference quality' :hmm:  :doze: Screens here show fuzzy/blurry shots – maybe polluted with digital processing? Noise reduction? What's wrong with using a Hollywood DVD as reference? :hmm:

Film looks fine on my 100inch projector. You should see the DVD yourself. Besides its miles better then most Indian DVDs by EROS/Spark.

The film is soft which is a result of the film going through digital grading and DVNR to make the special effect sequences better then it was on the big screen. But on my projector I uppened the sharpness levels and it was fine. Like I said you have to check it out yourself.

That is Eros-grade stuff. Is this what Alai, Anjanaya, and Winner look like? Looks not unlike the Baba DVD.

This transfer does look similar to Anjaneya dvd. The quality is close to VCD than DVD. I watched it on a 42" hdtv.

Color seems a little better than usual Ayngaran relases other than that so much for reference quality!! If they are using this to make Dil Chahta Hai dvd then :stupid: I recommend Ayngaran buy Training Day, Blade and Matrix Reloaded to use as reference for their new dvds. :baaa:

If you've seen the movie in theaters, you will not like the quality of picture as well. I think they intentionally had some 'blue' like feel to the movie like some english movies like Minority report and AI had!

It would surely be nice if all of the so called critics watch the movie at the theatre and then compare the dvd by watchinbg it themselves instead of just looking at screen shots :baaa: :bash:

It isn't necessary to see the movie in the theater to judge quality by screenshots. In any case, I saw it in the theater and it certainly did not look this bad.

Hey Guys,
Is Ayngaran trying to produce cheaper quality dvds?
Alai and Winner are total crap PQ wise. I don't know if Sunny replied to my post in the Alai, Winner post created by Kuttappan, but let me tell you that is not the direction to go.

Sunny, mate, how can someone take this as a reference DVD?
Have they not seen any Hollywood dvds by Columbia or Superbits?
Really, Sunny we need some explanations on the latest Ayngaran dvds post Kaakha Kaakha 'cause they seem cheap quality stuff. As you seem to be an Ayngaran collaborator or something, could you drop some of your knowledge. I do not take "You should watch it by yourself" as a reply as I have watched Alai, and Winner, and Anjaneya.
So please try and be objective.

Thanks for your input.

Dredd

The problem is not 'How the movie looked like at theater' vs 'How the movie looked like on dvd'. Obviously the theater quality will and always be better than dvd. Comparing 480 lines of resolution of dvd vs 2000+ resolution of 35mm. This dvd looks blurry and Anjaneya looked blurry. I can assure that it is not the intentional look for the movie and I don't have to watch it in theater to make that assessment.
