All of the colour and b/w dvds released by Yashraj are in EXACT condition if not worse Until "Prasad Digital" started authoring some of the dvds, there have been major improvements. But still not to the level of quality that one would expect from a DVD.

:hmm: :doze:

Please help me with this. Is this second edition (one with Indian subtitles) good in terms of quality?

Thanks.

Why, O why; would YRF dish out atrociously hideous transfers of their OWN movies? Even older movies by YRF-Super Digital looked better than this junk. Was it that difficult to look for a decent print and rectify minor issues that they resorted to using a VHS master? Not that this movie was a flop one that the negative was left uncared for. It was a super hit movie!
Transfers of Kaala Patthar, Noorie, Doosara Aadmi and Faasle can still be accepted as they are watchable at least. But their Daag is a poor excuse of digitization.

Very disappointing!

True! I got to rent this restored version. I had watched it on my plasma TV, and the mastering was amazing. Brilliant picture and sound for a movie this old. Easily one of the best transfers I have seen. Yash Raj ought to release this on DVD and Blu-ray.

It was available from my satellite TV service as a Movie on Demand. It was a good deal, pay 50 rupees and have the movie in hands for 7 days. It was worth the purchase because the quality was very overwhelming, especially compared to the older DVDs of the film. In case you're interested, check out the fresh uploads of clips of songs from the film, and a trailer.
