Nee Sneham new Telugu DVD from EVP released this week. It has an excellent DD5.1 sound and comparable with the best works of AYN.
The Video shows vibrant colors and looks better than Santosham. But strangely the bit rate is constant around 6 mbps. I was expecting a progressive transfer for this new film but EVP disappointed me again.
I hope nothing less than a progressive transfer for their first DTS DVD Okkadu.
But From EVP discussion board, it seems they are trying to get Progressive transfers for their new movies.
I already send the screen shots to ALI for Upload.

How is the film?

Perhaps if enough people ask about progressive/OAR on EVP's forum, they may try it again? I mention OAR because the screenshots aren't quite 2.40:1.

Sknath,
I am not sure about Gharana Alludu, but they are planning to release some song dvds.

Below is the part text from EVP email.

We are in the process of launching some K.Viswanth
classic collection, Chiranjeevi and Nagarjun songs album.

Dragun although I have not measured the image size, it looks all right to me.
I like your Idea of asking about progressive in their forum. I am sure they will listen if we voice our concerns. Although I have sent an email to Sudhakar I have not registered in their forms.

I have not watched this movie so far. But the most of the reviews rated this movie above average. I will let you know once I watch the movie.

And thank you for sending the Progressive Aradhana DVD.

Why do they still have to try?? They are fully capable of making Progressive DVDs.

Knowingly or unknowingly, they gave us quite a few Progressive Hindi DVDs.

Rana,
I believe they have given us progressive transfers with out knowing about it.
And I can see their effort on this dvd as it has the best Audio for a Telugh DVD. Hopefully they will continue to improve the video by giving us progressive transfers.

Ganti, isnt it ironical that a DVD is primarily meant to be suitable for viewing pleasure... ! Audio comes next in line . And if they have given us progressive DVDs, it is not such a tuff task to ask them to give us progressively encoded dvds.. Hell I might be tempted to buy out their entire catalogue if it were so !
If Ayngaran can do it, so can EVP... considering that after DEI/BEI, they are the only guys left in this business who deal with good quality control !

BTW u still didnt anser moi question... what happened to the Gangleader and Gharanamogudu DVds ? They seem to have vanished from their sites !

Sknath,
That's precisely my point. Audio comes second in my book too. Why can't they give us progressive transfers? I may be wrong but I think its some setting they need to change to make it progressive.
As far as AYN, it's good for them and the user that there are going progressive. I hope EVP does the same even before AYN.

I think they are busy with the new releses like Okkadu and Nee Sneham. If they are planning to do Chiranjeevi songs dvd, they better do Gharana Mogudu and Gang leader movies first.
