Has anyone seen the BMD DVD of the Tamil film "Parthale Paravasam"? Could you post screenshots and a review?

The DVD quality is similar to thier other releases. It has no compression artefacts, some light film grain, & weak black details. Also colour saturation is wrongly done as the film looks reddish brown. The 5.1 sound is however awesome, and subtitles are decent! Personally I would wait for the Ayngaran International version coming in the next few months as the colours are sure to look a whole lot better, and with thier close link to Rahman I'm sure they have had access to the original recordings of the sound which he stores on his computer (meaning better quality).

I rented the movie, and personally, I feel it's not good. It was quite stupid, in fact.

The dvd quality is all right.

Well I think the movie was just made in a fun light since it was K. Balachander's 100th film. I doubt it was meant to be serious. while the idea was intresting the way it was handled was a bit farce, and audiences knew it which is why it flopped.

However the soundtrack is excellent and is the sole reason of watching this film. Rahman crazy experimental fusion of jazz, r'n'b south Indian classical, bhangra & Indian folk songs sounds really mad at first but it is quite catchy as time progresses.

I loved the music for Parthale Parvasam. Like Alai Payuthey, it took me quite some time to get used to it, but now I absolutely love it.
