Colors are too vibrant , the black on black are too pronounced needs to soften up, a bit hurtful on the eyes. Are those scan lines? thought they were lines of resolution

"Dumb" is just the word to describe the people who made this DVD!
:stupid:

That backward Eros logo on the menu inspired me to do this:

Got the DVD last night and was very disspointed with the picture and sound quality - sounds like they are amstering Dolby 5.1 sound from hi8 source and not DLT as the treble is too high, the LFE channel was dull and there are moments of hissing. I will be selling mine and sticking with the older version of the film Dhil which had better picture quality.

This is a really pathetic attempt at a DVD even by Eros standards.

Got a chance to watch the dvd yesterday and I have to say that DUM is an excellent movie. This is the best movie I have seen so far this year. I thought the director did a wonderful job of keeping the movie interesting and well-paced from the beginning till the end. Now, as for the dvd by Eros, that's another story. Typical shit-like dvd with awful picture but good (but too high on bass) sound. One thing to note people, that the picture is not pixelated. The screenshots provided must have been compressed in a different manner...making it look pixelated.

Just to make another point of how EROS really screws up the picture quality, here is a comparison of screenshots from the feature film and the making of:

<span style='font-family:arial'><span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>From the feature film.</span></span>

I think we need some people here on ZULM to make DVD's for EROS, or just give them a new management, because their DVD's suck! Looking at the comparison of the making of the film and the actual DVD, if I were a director, I'd go for a different company!

i actually think the screenshots from the feature look better than the ones from the making of. there's a bit of cropping on in the feature, but the colours in the making are messed up. more detail can be seen in the screenshots of the feature, and i'm sure if you turn the colour up a little, it'll look fine.

I agree with THEON, the colors r oversaturated and not NATURAL, in making!

BTW!! I did comment earlier on SAATHIYA thread! and to ali too, I have this DVD and is NOT AS BAD as it shows on SCREEN CAPS! Samething with SAATHIYA!

They r NOT VERY GOOD, but dont have, BLOCKINESS/PIXELIZATION?SCANLINES either!

My folks watched it and their COMMENTS were INSPIRED .and quite a bit like SUNNY DEOL's ARJUN?

I think the umbrella shot from the making looks better. The colors look proper there, unlike in the feature shot, where it looks like Diya is a ghost. The two shots of Vivek look the same to me.

maybe there's something different about our monitor settings because those shots from the making of are clearly oversaturated (her face is orangey-red!) and the detail found in the feature is much better (look at her forehead, the umbrella stick and the coil over the umbrella stick).

There is some redness to her face in the making of shot, but it looks more natural to me compared to the desaturated skin tones of the shot above it. As for there being more detail in the feature shot, the two shots were not taken from the exact same frame. Notice how in the feature shot, Diya's eyebrows are raised a little, causing some lines in her forehead to be seen. She is not raising her eyebrows in the making of shot, so her forehead appears smoother.
