The Mani Ratnam film ‘Kannaththil Muththamittaal’ featuring Madhavan and Simran has been received extremely well at the prestigious Palm Springs International Film Festival held at California recently. It was placed third in the top 10 audience favourites. It is a proud moment for Tamil cinema that this film has been appreciated among 200 films from all over the world. This film was produced by Madras Talkies.

This is great news!. I loved this movie and thought it deserves an Oscar nomination for protraying humans dealing with true conflicts, unlike some other movies about an ego maniac a**!

Yes to both questions. I have recently discovered Tamil movies and this was one movie that I saw about 2 weeks ago. Absolutely loved it. Showed this movie to Panamanian friends of ours and they also loved it though we had to explain some of the South Indian regional references in the movie.

The dvd is by Ayngaran and the movie (not the songs) have English subtitles. For Ali's review look here:
