Lata Mangeshkar has sung a song for Nadeem Shravan for Boney Kapoor's new movie Bewafaa.

When will Nadeem get his head out of his arse?!? He is soooo damn arrogant, and I really don't understand why - he's not that talented.

I know...please, he couldn't have done a better job than Ismail Darbar! Heck i still listen to Devdas even though i listened to it so many times. I mean he's not bad but making history and giving justice to Devdas?

Had the music of Devdas been scored by me, it would have been a historical film. I would have turned it into another Mughal-e-Azam. The music of Devdas failed to do justice to the director's vision and grandeur

Hahaha....he also once called AR Rahman a jingle maker...anyway I usually try to avoid a movie where Nadeem Shravan's the musician. Why are they still around, I wonder?

Nice to see I'm not the only one with these sentiments..........probably the only composers who could manage to give a soundtrack to a supernatural/horror movie without a single haunting track!!

Those are exactly my views in addition to the fact that the story itself is failed by the music. Having said that, let me quickly add that I find it very hard to believe that Nadeem Shravan could have done much better. I mean come on these are guys who at best are an ochestra team, you know the kind that used to play at weddings in the '70s. Have you guys ever noticed the actual music of their songs, I am talking not about the tune but the music itself, it sucks and always sounds so amatuerish. On the other hand the music of Ismail Darbar is so full, specially their music in films like 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and 'Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya'.

If Lataji is singing for Nadeem now, we may see the following in the future:

Lata to sing for DragunR2

Lata Mangeshkar has recently finished recording a song for composer DragunR2 for the film "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun 2: Fight to the Death." The film will star Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sayaji Shinde and will release in July 2003.

DragunR2, whose real name is DragunR3, says of composing for Lata, "I've listened to her songs for years, but I never thought I would ever compose for Lata. I never thought I would compose anything. I have no musical knowledge whatsoever. Why I was picked to do the music, I don't know, but my producing and directing the film might have something to do with it." "Working with R3 was a nightmare. He doesn't know a thing about music and he makes Anu Malik look like S.D. Burman. I think some of his music tracks were actually just copies of American songs."

Working on HAHK 2 was a learning experience, says R3. "Before this, I had never composed any songs. I wasn't even doing anything in music. I learned not to yell at the singers. That was a hard earned lesson because I did it a couple of times and Kumar Sanu hit me in the face." Lata says she will never sing for the composer again. "That was the worst recording experience I have ever had," recalls the veteran singer.

:baaa: :stupid: :tounge:

I totally agree with you. She should have stopped singing about 10-15 years ago.

Nadeem Sharavan are full of crap - along the ranks of Anand Milind and the likes. As Sanjay said, nothing more than a wedding band. I mean, their tunes are passable, but the orchestration sucks. I notice that they get immensely insecure and defensive whenever they hear music that they know they could never possibly have thought up of.

To be honest I doubt that Nadeem-Shravan could have done even a percent of justice as Ismail Darbar did for the music of Devdas. I think his problem though is that he is very arrogant and thinks very highly of himself and his music.

The guy really needs to learn some manners and accept that they are not the top music directors out there, and they won't be, trying to have that attitude!

I some-what disagree. I think Lata should have been very selective with her choices of songs to sing for the past 10 years or so. And I say this, because if one thing she truly did do wonders for in the past 6-7 years and that was sing for Gulzar's Maachis. She made the songs for that movie memorizing. She was also excellent in singing O! Palanhara from Lagaan.

She had a few good songs, but in the vast majority of them, her voice was obviously past its prime. Unless the song calls for an older voice, she shouldn't be singing. Asha's voice is still quite nice, IMO.

i think people who say that Lata Mangeshkar has to retire or her voice is not nice anymore they have to clean their ears from wax inside.

until today no voice is like lata.

be it a lekin, a hum aap ke hain kaun
a jiya jale (Dil se)
kabhie khushi kabhi gham
or even the recently veer zaara

she is number one to 100 then the rest comes after.
lata didi is music and music is lata. cant separate

No voice today is like Lata's...from the 50s to the 80s. Now her voice isn't so good. I didn't like her voice from MPK onwards.
