Ayngaran have already done an amamorphic transfer of the film in 2.35:1 OAR. This transfer can be seen on a few of thier song DVD titles. However this is done in interpostive and they have no plans to re-do the transfer as Rajiv Menon is not intrested in supervising another transfer of this film after doing it twice for Ayngaran and once for Channel Four.

Rajiv Menon is working on his next untitled Tamil film that is due in 2004.

I can further add that the director has not included any deleated scenes on the forcoming Special two disc DVD. Rajiv Menon has chucked away all of the addional clips he had shot and the ones stored on AVID have been deleated.

Also the current two non anamorphic DVDs out by Ayngaran have been taken from the original 35mm negative stored in Technicolour London, and that the new anamorphic version due out in mid 2003 is taken from the same source.

All Ayngaran new film release DVD products are taken from thier original negatives and transfer onto a large capacity hard disc. From this it is then converted into MPEG 2 format and then placed on a professional grade DLT.

Sunny : Why would Rajiv Menon destroy added footage from 'Kandukondain'? It doesn't make sense. If he doesn't want to include it on the DVD, thats fine, but to go to the extent to destroy the originals is a bit too much, I think.

Has anyone alerted Ayngaran that they should refrain from saying Anamorphic when it isnt?

It makes no sense whatsoever now that we know that the special edition DVD is from the same print. Whats the use?

Not quite as plans to ensure the longivity of Tamil films is a feature that concerns Ayngaran. They are looking into the possibilty of becoming involved with the Hi-Def format, but can't say much about this as they are keeping this confidential.

ayyy... please let it be progressive. I want to buy Tamil movies to watch on a future HT set-up... the kind that show the downside of interlaced product.

Arsh, main to bas apne bharatiya naari Aishwarya ki tareef kar raha tha, jinke vajah se muje itne saare screenshots lena pada. How can you get sick of seeing more of her? Its not possible. Mujhe patha hain ki har ek screenshot main Aishwarya moujood hain. magar kya karen? Is film main bas unki raaj chalti hain. Baaki sabke presence bekaar. Hamare kasam.

I forgot to post screenshots of Ash from the first song in the movie. I'll try to do that later. I'm not posting screenshots of any of the heroes because they're ugly as hell and I'm not gonna waste my time on them.

There haven't been many good looking Tamil heroes, IMHO. I don't know why.

2. I assume , conclusion from sunny's post, that, a second, 2 disc version of this film is in process to be released in mid 2003. This 2 disc will be anamorphic widescreen, still interlaced, no deleted scenes, ?
ok, so what will be different offering here, besides, anamorphic transfer? sunny, pls. comment!

3. Finally, Prog transfer are 480P, bottom of the chain of high def..I dont know why hindidvd makers, with so bad history of ntsc dvd making process are bitten by highdef bug, ayangran, sd, etc, are on way to high def.....without fixing their dvd authoring techniques!!

4. finally kabira! yaar , no prob with aish beauty or your crush..I am kool with both, but changing caps every 5 minutes? I thought was kinda un usual!!

btw! I saw a song of movie IRUVAR, aish with nagarjun..was this her first film? and if some body can post some shots of those?
