Looks pretty decent considering the shots were taken in forceweave mode. Colours look right but its just the detail thats not there, otherwise looks a good dvd from Videosound.

I actually saw this film before I saw Leon and thought it was pretty good. Also it is worth noting that seeing this film prior to seeing Leon did not spoil my enjoyment of Leon because Leon was amazing and a lot better than Bichoo although this is a good Hindi remake.

This movie had one major difference in that Matilda's(Portman) character was a fully grown adult(Rani) and the romance was there so that makes this movie unique. It is also worth seeing this movie for the songs cos they are all really great. Any comment on the sound Arsh??? Oh and what are the special features?

Yeah, video seems decent in terms of sharpness/detail, but it is cropped, which is kinda annoying. Aren't VS dvds bad quality, in terms of the physical media? I've read elsewhere on this forum something about disc rot happening often with Video Sound discs.

One other thing, slightly off topic from this dvd, but I gotta say that Rani has improved her weight situation GREATLY since her old days. She was looking damn good in MDK. :p

Well!! I agree, the WEIGHT issue on RANI!!

BUt, she acted BETTER in this film!!
I did not like her in NAYAK and MDK, but she LOOKED FABULOUS in KKKG!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for SAATHIYA!!

One more thing that she has IMPROVED !! is her DANCING!!

Arsh yaar,

I must be honest and admit I have not seen Bichhoo, so I cannot comment on Rani's acting then. I've seen her in k3g, kkhh, mdk, hdjpk, cccc, kpnhj... man, all these abbreviations.. i remember reading an article way back complaining about how long Indian movie titles have become.. lol :p

Arsh.. just a question here.. from the shots you have posted here the video seems to have been encoded progressively... (Watch the shot where Rani is walking..notice the background)... Or am I wrong here ?
If this is the case then this would be the version to choose considering that the other alternative is the interlaced Shemaroo version !

Sknath,
Bichhoo dvd is encoded in progressive mode. But my observations through the songs dvd by video sound are as follows.

It has excessive DVNR problem which makes it look like a video than a film on larger display but still is should be better that the interlaced Shemaroo dvd. I think Arsh may be better
judge than me.

Well Ganti I think arsh will post his response here .. But if this is the case then there is one more DVD which will stand out amongst the 2 (Shemaroo and Videosound...)and that is Hera Pheri (Akshay-Sunil Shetty - Paresh Rawal).. The VS version is progressive whilst the Shemaroo version (in all likelihood) is Intrerlaced

Arsh, Are these shots from the current version in circulation or we have to look for a particular release??

Is it dual layer?? Who authored it??
Do you think it is on cheap media that is Susceptible to DVD rot?? Or is it on Gold media??

Thanks.

Rana

Ok!! Rana!! ji!! all info straightened!!

I bought it a while ago! I never opened it for a while!! Bad me!!

I think either from IW or SD direct? most likely from IW!

Film is on GOLD MEDIA! on the back says, SUPER DIGITAL/VIDEO SOUND (on the ring!!

DD 5.1 KAUSHAR sound at 448KBPS..wow!!

DUAL LAYER!!

BIT RATE, extremely high, ranging mostly from 7.5 to 8.7!!

Pnly one thing, what I never noticed..the DISC says..
""FOR RENTAL PURPOSE ONLY, NOT FOR SALE""

ha ha!! But, some body DID SELL IT TO ME!! :baaa:

Arsh,
Thank you for the screen shots you send me. I think this DVD PQ is lot better than the PQ on the songs DVD. Good find. I will leave the finding part to Rana so I can follow his footsteps to locate the correct DVD.
:D
