yo the guy's on here fucking goin on about force weave or 24bps or audio bollocks do u have the top of the range home cinema set up or just a fucking normal widescreen tv with a budget to mid range dvd player ???

i suspect like most of us on here we all have the avg set up and for that reason alone i think this dvd is suitable considering EROS THE NEW MOTHERFUCKERS OF INDIAN DVDS past track record they have always created dvds for the avg set up i mean how many motherfuckers on here have got a set up well in access of around £20k no one i should think !!!

the only person who has any right to be pissed off at this dvd is GEROGE LUCAS because if he brought to watch on his SYSTEM he would be well and truly fucked !!!

maybe its time G.W.BUSH asked the UN to send in dvd inspectors to check on EROS dvd manufacturing plant !!!

:D

In spite of the F's used I found your posting very true and funny. Reading all the feedbacks I decided I will not pay this high price and buy the dvd, but after reading your feedback I have decided to go ahead and buy the same. It cant be that bad after all. I still feel bad that DEI did not make this dvd. Erosentertainment we wish you guys stop making dvd and start selling something else.

possibly NOV the only thing thats gonna be different is that it will be certified by the BBFC .

don't expect EROS to do a major overhaul of work on the dvd this is has good as it gets.

Can someone please give a screen shot comparison of this DVD vs. the same frame screen cap from the curtain raiser. My fav. will be that "Hara rang daala" song that was alright in the curtain raiser DVD but too dark in the theatres.

Thanks.

Rana

Hi Arsh,
I didn't expect you on the net today. Isn't it a Holiday in the US??

Munda Kamaal Hai..Munda Kamaal Hai.. :D

IW if you reading this.. then get this friggin DVD to 2.99 and then I will also buy it :D

Now Ali / MHafner on a different note :-

You guys had mentioned that the problem with EROS dvds lies in the fact that the frames are improperly flagged. Would it be possible (by a smart decoding system) to undo this problem and make the frames follow the proper sequence ? Or am I missing out something here

Arsh/Rana... I think the curtain raiser was non-anamorphic.. but did it have the Maar Daala song ? I dont think so... The only songs were the Bairi Piya and Chalak Chalak song...

Arsh if you can grab a screenshot of the Bairi Piya song (in a force weaved mode of cos :D) and then we can compare it with the Bairi Piya screenshot as shown on the first page of this thread !

...And finally what you saw in the theatre was a "FILM"... what you see here on the DVD is something that has been encoded from a Video Master !

Not necessarily from a video master – it can be from a film master but not flagged (2:3 pull down) properly in encoding as Michel Hafner has mentioned on his review of Na Tum Jaano Na Hum. If this is true for NTJNH case it’s possible that many of recent Eros releases are in fact from film masters with problems originating from the encoding process – the improper flag encoding.

From the looks of the screen shots it’s a typical Eros DVD – no better or worse than previous Eros efforts like Humraaz, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum and Shakti DVDs.

Ali

This is what I call pseudo-progressive . Every video frame has pic from only one film frame and every 5th frame is a repeated frame (in proper Progressive, the repeated frame is not recorded at all but a flag is set instructing the DVD player to repeat that frame). This type of video frames can be identified and weaved back to original film frames by pixel to pixel comparison by advanced progressive DVD players or line doublers. Note that properly made (Digital cinetel ??) VHS tapes of Films fall in this category as well.

Then, there also are those video materials where film keeps on running at 24 frames per sec and video at 60 frames per sec resulting in many video frames containing info from two separate film frames.
Similarly there could also be "Film to PAL to NTSC" transfers where both or one of the transfers is by recording at independent speeds, This results in many video frames to contain info from more than two film frames.
These are thoroughly interlaced videos and I don't think any present re-interleaver can sort out the original frames and put them back again.
