I went ahead and bought the DVD of Antarghaat (Bengali) from Calcuttaweb. It took about two weeks to arrive - I got it today - it looks like an ex-rental - no shrink wrapping or anything.
Anyway, onto the DVD. This is the best print of a Bengali film that I have ever seen. Unfortunately, this is also a bad DVD. I'm not sure what the original AR is, but it's cropped. It's non-anamorphic, and the sound is pseudo 5.1. There are no subtitles and no chapter index, but there are trailors for most of the movies released by Arjoe (if you want screenshots, let me know - I assume the DVD quality is gonna be the same or similar). And, to top it all off, the film is on a single layered disc, resulting in pixelation.
The movie is ok - a welcome departure from the usual Bengali family crap, and is good technically for a Bengali film. It loses its way a little, but its a good action movie - worth a watch once.
