Here are the screenshots for the Kati Patang DVD. This film has been encoded in a progressive mode ( as the screencaps shown below have been taken in a force-weave mode in PowerDVD.. This also gives a Progressive mode indication when played on my DVD player - JVC-XV502SL)

Title No. :- 1020

Marketed by :- EVP International & RPG Music International

DVD Author :- Unknown !!! Nothing is indicated on the DVD cover..abt the author

Audio :- Dolby 4.0 with a bit rate of 192 Kbps

Running time :- 2:41 minutes

OAR ( Not sure )..but on the DVD cover it says Pan & Scan Screen

DVD Video bit rate ..on an average varies from 5.0 MBPs to 6.0 MBps..This manifests itself by a poor color contrast when viewing the film... and this the major drawback of this DVD..

Alternate Versions :- The (badly) Ripped version of this DVD and sold under the BABA DIGITAL logo.. Pls avoid that DVD by Hook or Crook !

One more feature to be noted here is that the DVD does not have any subtitles. So if you find a similar DVD with subtitles please beware of that.. It maybe encoded in an interlaced fashion !

So Here you are ARSH miyan :) Enjoy da show

I don't think it is that bad. I will check it again using 24 count and Power DVD Force weave. (Previously I had identified it as progressive).

Amar Prem, Aradhana, and Abhimaan also say "pan and scan screen" on the back, but the OAR is 1.37:1, so they aren't pan and scan. Apparently EVP didn't know the aspect ratio terminology when they made these DVDs. I think Shankarabharanam also says "pan and scan screen," but I'd have to check.

Except for newer batches of EVP DVDs turning up interlaced (from prog), for interlaced TVs PQ is the same as in Prog version.
