the dvd has a terrible picture. way too dark, colors seem to be way off, and it just isn't sharp.
The movie is so atrociously bad that it doesn't even matter. stay away from this disc.

Are you talking about the original Video Sound version. Recent dvds suggests that they are improving in their dvd authoring so if what you say is true, it would be a huge step backward.
Everyone i know who have seen this film say its really good so i choose to believe them although you are entitled to your opinion :baaa:
BTW i have contacted IW who have kindly added it to my order for $18.99
:D

I saw the movie in the cinema - although I don't think I would say it was really good, it was definitely a good film. I dunno why, but some of the emotions seemed more real than in other similar family movies. Some of the characters had more than one dimension to them - they were allowed to make mistakes!! I did think the film kind of rushed to the conclusion (all the problems got sorted out too quickly), but the climax was done very well. The other major problem is that there were tooooooooooo many songs in the movie, and at awkward places (and most of them were crap too!).

Overall, I think it's worth watching, and I'll probably be getting the DVD.

just to clarify, the version i saw was indeed the original video sound version, with a gujurati audio track included.

i think it's impossible not to notice how dark the transfer gets in most of the scenes.

Maybe the extra $2 was the handling charge IW put on their DVDs?

As for the original DVD being of bad quality - I wouldn't be surprised. I think Videosound must be one of the most inconsistent companies when it comes to DVDs - from decent DVDs like Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and Tum Bin to VHS standard crap like Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Gadar, and Deewanapan.

Yeah $16.99 + $2 shipping charge :D

i wonder how Video Sound is going to present their own produced film on dvd
"Kehtaa Hai Dil Baar Baar", right i thinks that the name?
logically, i would think, their VS would make a good dvd for this film since it is produced by them
but may be VS has some other logic :baaa: :stupid:
if they produce this film's dvd as bad as rest of their dvds, then i think there is no hope that VS will ever create a good dvd film presentation :bangbang:

Well, Could not locate Ali? today!

Finished watching OJJ!

Material: film v slow, crawling pace, poor production values, lacks fun and charm of masaala family films. predictable story.
Climax too phony!
Anupam loussy director indeed! The whole film give you impression of 3 ACT, Guju, THEATRE PLAY!!!IMHO!

good: confrontational scenes, between brothers.
Anil's performance.
Waheeda ji's presence!

music..does not give any boost or jell well with film...3 hrs film feels like 4 hrs long

film just crwls by milimeters! good to c urmila, good and confident again!

NOW DVD!
over all, just pasable, thats only because of additional GUJURATI sound track and REDONE songs in GUJRATI too, "kem cho, maaja maen cho..gujrati bhaaio, enjoy" was amusing for me ;) Songs esp feel very ALIEN in GUJRATI language! perhaps they should have left SONGS alone like in MK< but Vishu/Kher went extra miles here! after failing miserably on ALL other ACCOUNTS!

Vide..mostly abysmal, even VHS quality look, to it..very bad! with OCCASIONAL good looking scenes here and there..but soft, dull, grainy, artifactual, compression artifacts, dim, hard to see at times..kinda affair...just reminded me of THE WORST transfer of a NEW FILM AWARD previously given to HMBPKH!
is going to be shared by OJJ!!!! :bangbang: :ffs:

***Ganti make a note here?

Audio...not good either, LUSTERLESS!!! mediocre, to lower class DD 5.1, Video sound and EROS have done better sounds than this one!

Watch it! on ur own risk, esp, for GUJU track sake!
For PURCHASING, I wont recomend! :bangbang: Rather will advise BUYing MITR dvd!! lols :xmas:

Another DVD ruined by VideoSound. RHTDM, Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, Gadar...the list goes on. Strike another DVD from my 'to buy' list. Small wonder why my english DVD collection is getting all the attention these days.

Sup Arsh, I purchased the OJJ dvd its not too bad, but it does have some dark areas in the beginiing of the movie and there are some minor "scratches" that appear once in a while, the sound is good. Video Sound should definitly take more pride in there work and do it right!!
The great part or actually the funny part is the Gujrati audio track included. Its hilarious watching it in Guju (because im guju, i guess im not used to it), but EVEN THE SONGS ARE IN GUJRATI that part was shocker!!
Abhishek actually does a nice job in this movie, fardeen is his usual self like in all movies, Anil is good as always, Waheeda does great for not showing up in films for a long time. The best part of course was watching Mahima and her "Bakra" schemes, because she looked hella hot  in that movie! Urmila - they couldnt have picked a better biatch! :keh:
