Saw an interview of Rati Agnihotri y'day in which she let out that she has a special apperance opposite Bachchan......also saw/read elsewhere that Isha Koppikar has a full length role opposite Dutt.....so it appears our wannabe-hip-n-sassy director, sanjay gupta is including typical hindi film elements such as love interests and reasons why people go their respective bad ways, type of things....so much for being a
'hatke' remake of 'Reservoir Dogs'.......gentlemen, disappointment settles in....... :(

I was first amazed at the teaser and the IFFA trailer of Kannte, but after hearing about Sanjay Gupta making changes during post-prodcution - adding scenes with heroines, new songs, scrapping the idea of using just a urban background score from the likes of Rahman, Lucky Ali and other top Indian musicians opting for the awful and overestimated Anand Raaj Anand making the film more sutable to Hindi film conventions I have begun to wonder if Gupta is chickening out to make sure he has an audience for what was supposed to be a different film.

He should have stuck out to his original plan which was to make a film about drug/sex/alcohol/violent minded villains robbing a bank and fucking up! That's the shit we boys wanna see!!!

Imaging Swordfish with songs, dances...oh wait! I think that might be Vikram Bhaat's new copy...I mean next remake. :oh:

The pseudo-scoop on Kante...
the movie was shot by the cinematographer... it will be brought together by the editor...
"i film with a pan-american camera" gupta uses his utter lack of filmmaking sense, and starts his barrage of bollywoo on the movie... cinematographer decides to not fight to get HIS name on the directed by credit... editor just cringes...

I agree, naz, it came as a disappointment for me! Only Sanju's song o rama rules..he did a good job with shan imho..even song sounds coming from jungle/satya soundtrack..anand raj was a misfit for this track, he is under severe hangover of satya.jungle/lkkbk etc kinda style! a few mushy ones sound like his own work, zidi, salakaen, bichoo, and tera mera saath rahe..a big let down for me here!! sorry.
i am kinda skeptical abt film at this point, second hand englishflick..hmmtoo? man look at that terrible HAIRDO of Mahesh Manjrekar in the film!! Lagta hai, one more HEAVY ON STYLE ONLY flick..Will do well in I LOVE MY INDIA!!
I wish they would use sandeep chowtha or shankar ehsan, mean a music director with more consistency in style for this flick!!

:baaa: :stupid: :bangbang: :ffs: :vsneaky:

If this film has the slightest signs of a love story, than Sanjay Gupta really needs to get his ass kicked for deceiving us with an out and out action flick(a movie for guys who like movies).

does any body has mp3s so far?

I thought this was interseting! and EXPLAINS Vishal's overhang of SATYA/LKKBK and PAANCH.

I did not know abt that when I wrote my last post!

KAANTE ISNT' JUST ANAND RAAJ ANAND'S SOUNDTRACK:

Vishal/Shekhar and Lucky Ali have done the music for a couple of songs that are some of the best on the soundtrack (Chhod Na Re and Maut) Anand Raaj Anand has done most of them but it is unfair not to credit these two.

if some body, who has bought cd? might comment on this? :baaa: ;) :vsneaky:

First reviewof music album earns it 7/10? by PB/Indolink*

My rating 5.5/10

http://planetbollywood.com/Music/Kaante/

Kaante is another multi-starrer ready to hit the Hindi screen this year. Comprising of an unusual yet talented cast, the film was supposed to have as many six music directors, including A. R. Rahman and Viju Shah when it was first launched. Not only that, there were also supposed to be two soundtracks for the film; one comprising of songs from the film for the Hindi version, and the second containing the background music and other tracks for the English version. However, as it turns out, the makers decided not to get so ‘daring’ and ended up releasing just songs from the film, like any other Hindi film soundtrack. ((((The soundtrack is disappointing, given there are a few songs that stick out, but other than that nothing special. ))))

*****Probably the best song of the album is “Rama Re” sung by Sanjay Dutt, Anand Raaj Anand, Shaan, Zubin, and Sudesh Bhosle. Sanjay Dutt’s opening vocals are not only well sung but also well penned. The song is filled with attitude which takes us into the mind-set of the characters. Normally lyrics like ‘collar ko thoda sa upar chadha ke.. cigarette ke dhuyein ka chhalla bana ke’ are a turn off, but the mood of the song and the singing makes the words fit in.

Remixes of “Rama Re” and “Chhod Na Re” are also included on the album. However, the original versions of both songs are better in comparison to the remixes.

Anand Raaj Anand has tried to experiment a bit with his arrangements in Kaante, and that’s a welcome change. Though he still has a long way to go before he can be fully successful while experimenting (something which only Anu Malik and Ranjit Barot have accomplished recently with Aks, besides of course Rahman).

I wonder***** why REVIEWER did not address Vishal/Lucky Ali doing a few numbers in there besides ARA??? :baaa: :ffs:
