Recall, that original EVP titles that were interlaced (like Pyar Hi Pyar, Prem Kahani etc) were crystal clear pseudo-progressive where every 6th frame was a repeated frame. This indicates 25 to 60 transfer ( in 24 to 60 conversion , every 5th frame will be a repeated frame). This 25 could have been PAL or it could have been 25fps Digital.
Strange thing about SBG is that there is no repeat frame pattern at all in its 30 fps video (remember origin is from 24 fps film). Then it must have been field averaged, but very well done. No multi images or missing limbs, normal for field averaged DVDs these days. Also, the film doesn't have fast motion scenes. That helps too.

Tried again today, and still same conclusion. As I could not find any repeat pattern, I can't say for sure if it's 4% speed up or not. Most likely, it is 4% speed up.
DEI got rights for this film from EVP. DEI DVD seems to have gone thru one more video processing from EVP. Both DVDs are a few seconds shy of 155 min.
Assuming a 4% speed shift, it's at best a 162 min version. Note that IMDB states it as 152 min and Wikipedia says 155 min AND both of these are not correct. EVP DVD has Film CC dated June 20, 1972 (Film originally released in the early 1960s) shows 4755.60 meters which is 173 min.
So, at least 11 min seems to have been lost for ever.

Any Film Historian ?? looking for lost footage ?? Check with Indian Archives or Academy Awards. This film was India's official entry for the Oscars. Film won (India) President's Silver Medal. So, might find a full copy with the Archives or with the Oscars ??
