Rejoice!
You can watch the 2-D version of last year's 3-D version of SHOLAY (which had a cleaned up picture and and a new redone soundtrack, alongwith added credits at the start and the end) on HOTSTAR at http://www.hotstar.com/movies/sholay/1770002773/watch (after paying something as low as Rs. 199 per month for one month).
As on 5 Dec 2016. May not be there for long! Watch today!!!

(There are also some elements overlaid on the picture for 3-D purposes.)

Now also on Amazon Prime, though with a few more seconds of added distributor credits, and the extra bass in the new soundtrack reduced it seems.

no thanks - its not the original sound or colour. The songs sound wrong. More like a remixed film. I’ ll stick to Carlotta DVD for Theatrical version, and EROS/B4U for Directors cut as thats close to best we can get.

Tried to watch this but it sounds awful! The songs are really messed up! I couldn’t sit through the whole thing and honestly the picture wasn’t that great but the sound quality (especially during the songs) is what really got to me.

I was originally gutted to have missed this in the cinema - but having seen glimpses of it on Star Gold, this is a big no. What a complete mess.
