Devdas was uploaded on Erosnow. I have a WebHD rip of the movie. Here are screenshots : -

These screenshots are represent what the quality looks like. The movie looks better than this. Will upload full sized shots soon.

The movie looks a lot better than these shots. I hope Eros is considering a Blu-ray release. Would be lovely to watch this movie in the HD format.
Also, I've added a poll. Start voting! :D

There were SOOOOO many rumors(??) about Eros restoring Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam for Blu-ray. But it has been 5 years since those news and there's no ray of the movie available on Blu. In fact, even the Eros website has the movie, but the quality is crap. The same as the Eros DVD. Why is Eros doing this?

The 1080p stills are horrible. I sincerely hope that is not the quality of the 1080p master. Blocky aliased PAL resolution upscaled to 1080p.

I too hope that the HD master isn't in this condition. I have a lurking feeling that the person who encoded the MKV has something to do with the quality.
On the positive side, the color rendition is great! I found Dola Re Dola rather dull. Other parts look very strong.
I feel that its pretty satisfactory considering the fact that the only alternative I have is the Eros edition. :wotever:

That is true, and it is utterly disheartening. Foreign fans get to treasure such quality sets; while we here in India get utter crap in the name of DVDs. Take the examples of Sholay, Jab We Met, 3 Idiots... and an endless list to continue. Saying anything more is of no use! I'm glad at least new movies get good treatment on DVDs/Blu-rays. There's nothing more we can really ask for.
