While on Ghai, the film-maker cum financier cum distributor is releasing BADHAAI HO BADHAAI himself all over the world. “Where are the buyers these days?” he asks, continuing in the same vein, “If at all there exist a few, will they give me the price I quote or my project demands? So why not distribute it yourself?”

Incidentally, Ghai hasn't seen his own film yet. “I did see portions when it was in the post-production stages,” he says, “But my family and I've decided to watch the complete film in a cinema hall. You realise the rights and wrongs when you watch your product with the common man.”

well, from the story it looks like a remake pf the telugu film 'subhakankshalu' which in turn was a remake of a tamil film. The story sucks, but the film had some good music (the telugu version).

Bola tha! na Buffy bhaiya! Nutty or not! PITTEY GI YEH FILM BURI TARAH! no takers for Anil, and Shitty girl? :baaa: :vsneaky:

Anil in a weighty role
Badhaai Ho Badhaai is no comedy, it is humdrum slapstick
That sums up Satish Kaushik's Badhaai Ho Badhaai. Inspired in part by the 1996 Eddie Murphy film,The Nutty Professor, playing the part of the obese Prof Sherman in the desi version is Anil Kapoor.

Where The Nutty Professor was a delightful comedy about a horizontally generous professor, Badhaai Ho Badhaai is a slapstick, slapdash venture with too many subplots that manage to disfigure the movie beyond the realm of coherence.

Shetty, who plays Banto Betty, mangles what could have been a chance for a delightful comic role, with her outrageously loud expressions, dialogue delivery and costumes.

As Florence, Reddy does not have much of a screen presence and slips out of your memory whenever she is not onscreen.

Anil Kapoor, whose movie it is all the way, is sincere. He has tried hard to infuse life into his role, and experimented with his looks. But Kapoor's efforts are marred by an incoherent screenplay. His gags fall flat and his bloated look does not really add that zing to the story.

Badhaai Ho Badhaai is marred by a poor script, loud acting and slapstick packaged as humor. And despite its attempt to piggyback on one of Hollywood's successful comedy films, it fails to redeem itself.

DISASTOR! for OVERATED DIRECTOR SATISH KAUSHIK!

Another Dumber/Bummer verdict review?

MORE FAT-HEAD THAN FAT CAT!

Other than displaying avoirdupois, Anil Kapoor offers little. His performance in 'Badhai' is no patch on his showing in films like 'Virasat', 'Pukar' and 'Nayak'. Shilpa Shetty plays a Punjabi girl for the first time and seems heavily inspired by Kajol in 'Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham'. Kirti Reddy puts in some effort in her role and comes off better than she did in 'Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya' and 'Pyar, Ishq Aur Mohabbat'. Among the supporting cast, the big names like Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal and Rohini Hattangady fail to impress.

Another BAD REVIEW ! BHB??

Badhai Ho Badhai

NO CELEBRATION!**/*****

The film lack of narrative direction is irksome. There is a generous dose of Poove Unkage (Tamil) and The Nutty Professor (1996) in the film. It also has shades of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Bawarchi. Thumbs down to the screenplay and dialogue credited to Kavita Chaudhary. Sharmistha Roy's art direction and Rajeev Jain cinematography are mediocre.

As far as the performances go Keerti Reddy just hams, Shilpa Shetty has nothing much to do except be loud. Anil Kapoor attempts to put life into this comic caper that fails to evoke any kind of laughter
