Sharp picture is one thing and dull/ vibrant color is another.

Many Yrs back, in the early 2000s when Shemaroo started releasing many DVDs with vibrant colors, I posted about Shemaroo web page claim/ publicity that they use a process that rejuvenates dull colors of faded prints. We wished that we get DEI sharpness and Shemaroo colors.

Rejuvenating dull colors is basically a signal processing and we can do it at home (they can even color B/W films) during playback, provided we have proper equipment.
But, Field Blended video, the cause of soft & ghostly video, no one can fix.

Both versions are missing a song and a few scenes. I recall that I had or have a full version of this movie on VHS.

Do you mean the same in HDDCS's case? DEi sharpness and Shemaroo colors?

DEI authored HDDCS already has optimum PQ. (A little squished picture in DEI version, is no problem with variable stretch control in monitors/ screens/ tv).

As I mentioned earlier, reason for Shemaroo vibrant colors for old prints, is their special video processing that boosts PQ of worn out/ faded film prints. In case of HDDCS, DVD was authored when film prints were new, in the days of its initial release. So, no faded colors to fix.

That's right but new movies' DVDs of Shemaroo too had oversaturated colors and contrast boost (in "My Wife's Murder" and "No Entry" for example). Then I believe if Shemaroo re-authorizes HDDCS, the colors/contrast levels would be high. Or probably they'll just stuff in their old encoding with only a watermark added

DEi HDDCS looks excellent with the warmth. That's how the movie looks the best (recall Shemaroo and Eros both gave zero warmth to the movie and green tints are predominant giving an extremely hideous look to the film.) So I don't think any future DVD or BD can have better or as good colors.

Recently, I showed comparative shots to a friend from "Aankhon Ki" where Aish does some "ishara" to Salman to fix her blouse. It looks too magenta-ish on DEi and looks greenish, dull and blurred on Shemaroo. The friend chose Shemaroo colors there. For other shots too (eg. Check the shots in which ajay-ash stand together (ash in a green saree) from my HDDCS thread. He likes Shemaroo PQ there too)

Now just imagine "Nimbooda" on Blu Ray with excellent sharpness and detail but Shemaroo colors/contast and brightness. Wouldn't you just turn back to the DEi DVD? Well, I would!

If that's gonna happen, I wouldn't even touch the Blu Ray of the movie. Thatd be an insult to the DEi DVD as well as to the movie.

When all is said and done it still have the evidence of rip off . I paid good USD for DEI/BEI and SKY dvds only to have them frozen. Both of these companies still have the transfers and I am of the opinion that they are now in India reproducing these movies and marketing them under other names like Eagle
