I was wondering if you used red/cyan glasses or was this done using the RealD 3D technology.

I don't think those glasses were red-cyan. My guess would be RealD 3D technology was used.

Cool - thanks. Gives me some hope that I can watch this in 2D on BD if it gets released.

Welcome!
Well, we know our DVD/BD authors very well. I'm not sure whether they'll release one.

But let's join our hands and pray for one.

If I'm not wrong, a 2D version has also been released. If any DVD/BD gets released, it's like to be a Pen disc, so expect the huge colourful Pen logo in the top left hand corner.

Shubh-Shubh bolo :O

Or it could be by UTV too. Because UTV was associated.

I heard the background score has been "re done" by Raju Khan. What could that mean.

BTW, the running time is being advertised as 3 hours and 26 minutes at http://in.bookmyshow.com/buytickets/?sr ... 106&ety=MT

Director's cut EROS-B4U DVD was 204 min with a different ending. DEI-EROS was original theatrical version and was 198 min.

2 min more than the director's cut could be some documentary about making of the 3D version ??

BTW, how is the release doing at the BO ?? Haven't seen any showings listed for Canada ??

Not sure if the 3D version is the director's cut as far as ending goes. But yes, it could be director's cut minus the director's cut ending. Lemme see if I can catch it in a theatre in Delhi.

No. The 3D version is not the 204 min director's cut edition.
They show the ending in which the police officer stops Thakur from killing Gabbar and the Sachin-being-killed scene isn't there. (They don't show Gabbar killing him)

I think it was the 198 minutes version + a few mins of new credits by Maya digital. That may have made it 3 hrs 26 mins, as you said newDEEP.

Correct me if I'm wrong

In the scene when Gabbar kills Thakur's family, does the uncut version of Sholay show Thakur's grandson being shot? Was that sequence removed by the Censor board?

They didn't even show the child's dead body, whereas they showed the bodies of the others.
Was this too disapproved by the Censor?

Alright!
For some reason I'd thought that the 3D version was re-edited.

I confirmed it with that DVD and realized that nothing has been edited.

I don't understand why DVD companies remove the intermission card?

It is Sholay, and yet not Sholay. Quite an admirable effort.

I noticed heads being cut off (probably it was cropped from 2.20 [70mm] to 2.35). They could've pillar boxed it (although it would be done slightly as there's not much pic diff between 2.20 & 2.35)
